Last time I did this poll, Wlad came out on top. Now that Wlad is retired, who is in your opinion, the hardest puncher in the heavyweight division?

Wilder hits harder than Povetkin, Ortiz, and Joshua.

Wilder doesnt have the technical skills nor style to pull punches like Joshua ,this is pretty evident in almost every vid i seen him in. He doesn't want to learn he wants to dominate and be the man. Joshua goes very light and actually boxes to his weak points. Joshua hurts you without trying to hurt you,so theres the answer.

Tbh I struggle to see Wilder as the hardest puncher of the division. I think his power looks more impressive than it actually is because he puts everything into his punches, and his opponents have been carefully selected as they pose little threat and also because they can't take Wilder's power, either.

As horse **** as I think his technical ability and resume may be; I have to admit Wilder's one punch knockout power is better than Joshua's, Povetkin's and (probably) Ortiz's.

But that's really all he has; a sledgehammer right hand, Joshua, Povetkin and Ortiz all have better overall arsenals. If you did a poll on most thudding jab it would probably be Joshua, biggest uppercuts - Ortiz, biggest hooks - Povetkin etc etc.

Joshua is more heavy handed than wilder. Slight speed advantage PER punch to Wilder but hes also less technical in form and ability to use more body into his punch that is also about 25/30 pounds lighter. If the fights have showed us anything its Wilders punch power is somewhat suspect to the level hes labled and not as scary as most think.

Joshuas combined mass x speed seems to have overall bigger impact on opposition. Take the same guys that walked down Wilder and i bet Joshua flattens those guys standing in front of him inside 3 rnds.Hes already showed that didnt he? Joshuas knocking out guys and down even with punches landed on their gloves...When did wilder do this?

Joshua is really like a Foreman type puncher with speed and technique.

Wilder is more like a Holmes type ..snappy puncher but with power but less technique...

    Pretty clear to me!

Joshua hits harder. And his resume so far does show that. :ggg

Where is the option for Hughie "I'll KO Parker in 4 rounds" Fury?

This poll is a disgraceful display of racism, and does nothing to discourage the increasing discrimination against Gypsy folk.

    I'd guess Joshua but
I would have guessed Joshua but this pretty much is first hand experience.

Joshua has more one shot power, but sets it up better too. He also doesn't get as many chances to hurt guys in the U.K bc the refs save them. The most battered guy that the ref let go was Whyte and we all saw the result in that. Whyte also is a sturdy resilient fighter unlike the guys wilder k.od, or didnt k.o ( Stiverne) and he hit him cleanly throughout the fight. The eye test tells me Joshua hits harder and would knock people flat if he fought in the U.S bc they let the fights go longer over here..

@4:30 this guy pretty much said the same thing i posted above..

    Wilder equals snapping punching

Joshua equals getting hit with a sledge hammer.

When you add all of Joshuas attributes hes going to hit harder in a real fight, everything points to that. From opponents to how they throw punches. I looked for a minute on you tube, knew there had to be one common sense vid on there and its relatively new.

To compare Joshua and Wilder in power use Molina. Wilder wobbled Molina early on but he survived to much later rounds (and made Wilder do the chicken dance at one point). First time Joshua seriously hit Molina he was ktfo.

    Nice post.

I think Joshua's single shot power is a little overrated. I can definitely see an argument for Wilder but I think I would need to see him step up in opposition to be sure. When Wlad was about I had him as the clear hardest puncher in the division but with him gone I'm not so sure.

British promoter, Frank Warren says that 5 fight novice Daniel Dubois is already the hardest heavyweight puncher in the world.
