George Groves vs Jamie Cox WBSS Super Middlweight quarter final RBR

People criticise ITV for making this a PPV, but the whole card was pretty awesome.

Best PPV for some time.

Very impressive body shot but I still think Eubank beats Groves. If Cox can have a round like he did in the second where he had Groves shelled up in the corner twice then I think Eubank's superior hand speed and combinations will have George sweating bullets.

I just can't ignore GG's low left hand and stamina issues and how much they'll play to Eubank's strengths.

I did "lean to" Groves when the WBSS draw was announced but that's not even close to "laughing at the thought".

 

Easy to say Yildirim was nothing special. If Cox came out like that against Young Christopher the same thing would have happened.

Why not make Cox-Yildirim next? Two absolute nutters in the ring, would be a good fight.

 

Why is Eubank Sr wearing a Police badge? Is he moonlighting?

 

I think CEJ is just all wrong for Groves stylistically. This goes deep and Groves' tank is not great. He is not difficult to hit either.

 

Production is very slick and actually feels like an event rather than some side show seedy fight occurring after some pub crawl which is how Sky present their shows.

 

So pumped now for Groves vs Eubank

 

Credit where it is due. Cox was way better at the weight than most expected he would be.

 

Jr is a big dude I'm telling you Groves is barely bigger than Jr

 

One has an iron chin, the other has been sparked and KD for fun. Eubank eats him alive.
