    Trout's success early with uppercuts may have actually worked against him long haul. In round 2 in particular, Trout looked really sharp, and still was doing his best work on the outside, moving to his right, where he picked his spots and mostly stayed at range. The success with uppercuts gave him a false sense of security, and made him slowly but surely get away from sticking more outside behind the jab, moving right, and crowding only when necessary. Of course, Hurd's tactics had something to do with this, too. But Trout should have held closer to the plan.
