At this stage of their careers, Jr is wrong for GG. I see it as a comfortable victory for Jr via late stoppage.

Eubank has got a hell of a lot more in his arsenal than Froch. And time will prove that he has just as good, if not better, a chin as Froch.

Groves has faded against a lot of fighters. Rebrasse was another one. He's been in so many wars. Eubank has always been in one-sided batterings (a six round battering in the Saunders fight because he didn't do anything in the first six). It's all wrong for Groves. He won't be able to prevent getting sucked into a tear up with Young Christopher. It's going to be a career ending beating IMO.

Look at that dent on his forehead. I hope he had it checked at a hospital.

Probably said already, Groves will get Leronne Richards in for sparring and have the BJS fight on playback.

Was there ever any video of the Richards-Eubank spar released?

Has to be the funniest sparring rumour I have ever seen.

Lerrone supposedly poleaxes Jr, but then Jr asked him to do more rounds and Lerrone claimed he only came to do a set number of rounds and didn't want to aggravate an injury.

A bloke who was poleaxed should be going to the hospital not asking to go more rounds.

Richards is a tricky Southpaw so it wouldn't surprise me if he did OK for a few rounds but he can't punch his way out of a wet paper bag.

    #poleaxed #delusional

He didn't do anything against Saunders for the first 6 rounds because Saunders was keeping him honest with his jabs and straight lefts, CEJ is by nature a cautious fighter, he doesn't like taking risks, at all. So he bided his time until Saunders got tired and his already minimal power diminished. What happens if Groves doesn't get tired? And if he was scared to rush in on Saunders out of fear of being countered, do you really think he's going to be bumrushing a far harder hitter than Billy Joe?

And no, he doesn't have nearly as much in his arsenal as Froch. That's not even debatable, Carl dominated Abraham far more effectively and intelligently than Eubank did, back when Abraham was still Abraham. He was the first guy to actually beat Abraham.

    My takeaways from this fight-

    1) Jamie Cox is world level- This guy has some decent skills, he was just too small, he had the speed of a 154lber but only punches like a 160lber. Groves just out muscled him, but Cox appeared to have the quicker hands, he just had to take shots to get in range. I think Cox could do well @ 160 if he could get down, I don't think he could ever be a champ @ either 168 or 160, but he has a better chance @ 160. I think he beats domestic fighters like Fielding and Ryder.

    2) Groves is in his prime now- Groves is a more mature fighter now, he knows his own game inside out. He knows how to get the best out of his strengths and he is more relaxed and shows greater poise under pressure. Groves power is immense and he has the best jab in the game. It will take a special fighter to beat Groves and he is the man to beat in the division. Groves is the only world champion that has a win over a current world champion.

I have been talking Jr up for years but now he can just go and prove it.
If he's the fighter I think he is, he will be the WBSS champ, if he's the fighter most used to think he was then he should have lost to Yildirim.

Groves is an excellent scalp, but its not a gimme, only elite fighters can beat this version of Groves. Groves is the type of fighter that improves after every loss. He would beat Badou Quack if they ever rematched, he was just unlucky to get clipped early, but I think he is a better fighter now.

You can keep hyping up his opponent's with your tongue firmly planted in your cheek, because you secretly think its a sure thing that Chris beats them, you learned well from that thread I wrote about how stupid it was for fans to discredit their favorite fighters best wins.

But since you think Martinez and Williams were glass jawed bums that would have been there for the taking against Hurd, and in all likelihood Ward and Froch would be mowed over by Jr. You obviously are thinking its a forgone conclusion that Eubank beats the brakes off of Groves, and that you're slyly hyping him up now to bolster your boy even more for when the eventual in your mind pre-determined outcome comes to past. Well, sorry I hate to break it to you, but for all of my crying wolf attempts with Jr. that this guy or that guy or the other guy, might beat him, or will KO him, this is one who power wise and stylistically, the most liable to finally accomplish my long held wish.:D

So a word of warning, you don't take Groves lightly either, because you are, that's pretty apparent. Because I ain't crying wolf this time.:deal:

Lara is better than both PW and Martinez and I am expecting Lara to get the business from Hurd, and I hope it comes next so you can see it too.

Don't cry that Hurd is too big, that's just his physical advantage.
Lara was blessed with speed and Hurd is blessed with freakish ability to cut weight.

Hurd is twice the size of that ginger midget, don't know why people used to say he was a huge 154lber
