You can see this on boxing forums across the net and sports bars in this country when there's a PPV fight.

You said all you needed to say in your last sentence! That's all that matters.... What they do in the ring! I can care less about them hootin and hollering after a fight! So what! These guys, as most fighters, may not have been raised with the same public eticate as you or maybe they don't give a fock what you or I think! Fans are stupid and hypocritical, these guys attitudes are bad for the sport, but Tyson Fury's antics help it? OK! SMFH

This is patently wrong on so many levels. Latino's drive the ship in terms of supporting boxing in the U.S and the rest of your drivel is specious nonsense.

E.E. do get some support because of their fan friendly styles and the something new paradigm yet people like you begrudge them even this and they still get discriminated upon economically and by the sports infrastructure.

I hate this repulsive entitled attitude that may have playing the victim and trying to guilt people into who they can like and for what reasons.

Since when were forums a good measuring stick for the larger boxing community and sports fans at large? The biggest draws in this country are Black and Mexican fighters, Hispanics make up the biggest ethnic bloc for fight fans. There goes your theory.

Even still most people from the UK don't actively root against their own even if they have little backing. That's the big difference. The only fighter from the UK that really gets hate from his own is Khan, that's it.

I'm never rooting against anyone who's fighting for my country, unless it's a domestic clash.

Vast majority supported Tyson and you are up **** creek without a paddle if you intend to argue that.

Holyfield is another black fighter that America loved, who did not play the villain.

Roy Jones, while not a colossal star was popular and well liked a good earner. List goes on and on.

That's not really what the question/this thread was about.

Those two fighters have no backing because they are not well known because Warren is awful at building profile. Look at Warrington, Skeete etc....in fact almost all of his stable.

I can guarantee if those fighters were with Hearn they would be much popular than they are.

Tyson vs Lewis was in 2002. Tyson is still loved and a pop culture fixture, as is Holyfield.

Roy Jones was a solid earner well into the 00s.

The entire argument that the American black athlete has to play the villain in contemporary times boils down to Mayweather and him alone. Who defines boxing for you simpletons. And that's not even true. Mayweather was a big earner for years before he started the Money persona. Look at Mayweather vs Judah. Mayweather took on the villian role against Pacman and Latin Americans, fighters with large established fan bases that would be rooting against him anyway. Hell, that's why Mayweather mostly drew the color line, more money in playing the villain to Latin Americans.

Because boxing forums are sample size of the larger pool. The biggest draws might be Black Americans but they're also drawing not because they're loved but instead because they want to see them lose. That's a problem.

lol a lot of crying on here about Americans "hating on their own black stars" all because fight fans preferred GGG and Kovalev to Andre Ward. Thats all that this is about.

Get over it. Andre Ward can't draw flies to **** outside of Oakland. People find his style boring and his personality ((((entitled))) even worse.
