Do people honestly think Lara still beats GGG?

Probably not... But you're comparing him a Cuban who had a long amateur career and turned pro in his mid 20s to a Mexican who turned pro when he was a teenager and is fighting past long past his shelf date. I think Lara who will be 35 in April has another 3-4 years left as a top 5-10 fighter.

GGG hasn't had that many fights for his age. He also hasn't fought good comp until recently and hadn't gone 12 rounds in years until he fought Jacobs. One could argue Lara has taken more punishment than GGG has.

 

Lara is starting to look a little slower regarding pulling the trigger,
maybe last night was an off night.
I've always thought he'd give Golovkin problems stylistically
and would make Golovkin look bad. But not an older slowing
down version of Lara. he doesn't have the pop to keep him off.
or the legs to move furiously for 12 rounds. They're both slowing
and the fight isn't as intriguing
