Because he was trying to badmouth Povetkin and dismiss his victory over Takam by saying it was do to Alexander being FULL of Meldonium (Without Any Proof) I was going to say basically what On The Money said. It was legal so you can’t really knock him for it. Especially without any proof. And you don’t know if Meldonium was the cause of him getting that second wind.

I couldn't give a toss about how much or how little was in his system, fact is he tested positive for a banned substance, therefore he is guilty.

The fact is Povetkin is a dirty fighter.

But wasn't that the thing. It was legal and he admitted taking it. It was banned and he stopped taking it. The minuscule amount in his system was from when he stopped earlier. At least the doctors said they couldn't rule it out.

Sasha has always been a strong in the second half kind of guy. Look at the Chambers fight. After the first six rounds people were thinking an upset was taking shape. Then by the end nobody doubted the American had lost before the cards were read.

The only time he really flagged late was versus Klitschko and that was from the exertion of pressuring a much larger man and being kept at the end of his rangy jab, and wrestled around (by, again, the much larger man) like a rag doll all night. And the repetition of flush power shots he was eating didn't help.

 

How would you see AJ vs Povetkin going?

That's maybe the one serious test out there for Joshua. The rest of the division is fish in a barrel.

It would either be Sasha giving him a boxing lesson (or banging him out if the chin isn't able to handle whatever Sasha manages to land cleanly), or it would be Joshua bouncing around mashing Povetkin's face to a pulp using his athleticism edge (mainly foot and hand speed) on the older Russian, who never was the spriest fellow.

Would be fascinating to watch play out.
