Last year at the Haye-Bellew press conference, Eddie Hearn branded Haye as a "joke promoter", and yes, his promotion on the Gjerjaj fight was horrific with Lethal Bizzle performing to the crowd.

Fans also slate Haye for "conning the public" with "joke PPVs" against Harrison and Bellew, and for his poor performance against Wlad.

These are a matter of opinions but you have to give props to him for putting Joyce's fascinating debut against Lewison on Dave so that everyone can watch for free. It's a great start and they have several dates lined up. So if the standard of opponent does indeed remain high we could see some cracking bouts for free involving Joyce and others in the next 12 months.

I applaud Haye for that, can't wait until Friday, night's entertainment sorted.

Was there any other choice? If it wasn't Dave who would it be?

He's like a better looking version of Mick Henessey.

Looking forward to Friday- it's a very strong test for Joyce.

As for Dave, it's impressive that Haye and Ringstar have secured fifteen dates over three years from them.

That's not the point. Look at ITV. Look at what Mick Hennessy did. Haye could have easily taken the **** and put this on a pay to watch platform.

He probably could have ended up going to a subscription sports channel like Premier Sports, ESPN or Eurosport.

    Yeah, I agree.

It is what it is but for a first show its good and its on Free to air TV...

I do think though we shouldnt let the fact there are so many non ppv shows now as ppv, make us too grateful for giving us free boxing.

Yeah the last point is pretty gutting actually. I remember as a kid watching David Haye's war with Carl Thompson on BBC, would kill for that kind of coverage now. But anything on a free view channel is nice and this is a great scrap, better than Cornish-Sexton for the British a couple weeks back which was subscription only. That's the point I was making.

I watched a IFL interview with him yesterday talking about Joyce etc and their show on Dave. He spoke with a lot of enthusiasm and passion about it. You can tell this has reinvigorated him has a person. The Bellew fight was almost a side note. I think he’s ready to move onto that side of things now no matter what happens in December. He’s a breath of fresh air has a promoter.

I hope it goes well for him to be honest. He is doing what ITV should have done and thats build a following. Make no mistake about it he will have Joyce on PPV asap so enjoy it whilst you can!

I don't mind fights being ppv if its for a world title or they have become a big name in the sport

what annoys me is when they build a fighter up and then have them fight a load of nobodies

I think a few of us on this forum could do the matchmaking for most of these companies

That was a class interview, loved the bit at the end when he showed us the custom made Loboutin platform shoes for his midget trainer so he can do the pads properly! I thought he was joking at first.

I thought the same almost like he see's his own career now as almost as a bonus... He is clearly on a fight by fight basis now and if/or when he loses he will concentrate on his new career as a promoter and i reckon he will do really well personally.
