AJ vs Takam prediction thread

yall done gone bonkers over takam. i mean hell he's a good replacement last minute but he aint no beater. i wish it was but cmon now.

I mean, hey, he knocked out a bloated, 45-year-old Frans Botha. So, I'm sure he'll beat Joshua.

 

Joshua TKO 9.

Takam is a very tough fighter with decent skills and I think he'll be Joshua's 2nd best opponent so far. He also is better defensively and skill-wise than the likes of Breazeale and Whyte but once again Joshua's power, physical strength and finishing ability will lead to a stoppage. I'm guessing round 9.

 

You have to favor Joshua, but I think this fight and how he performs will tell us a lot about him.

Wlad was on the decline since the Jennings fight and was out of the ring 1.5 years at age 41. This is his best win.
In this fight, Joshua proved his heart and will to win, however, he was shaky vs. opponent ranked in the top ten and took many rounds to shake off the effects of just a solid right hand, and gain his second wind. Vs a younger man, he would have been in bigger trouble.

The Wald fight shows me Joshua's chin is just all right, and he has some stamina issues in the later rounds.
Takam is a solid top 12-20 type of opponent with good skill, power, and durability. He was competitive vs. Joseph Parker in 2016. I think he has a shot to win, and that would be unfortunate as Heavyweight boxing needs Joshua to do well.

At age 36, I think Takam is slightly past his prime. 2-3 years ago, this could have been a fight.

Best guess: Joshua via 9th round TKO with Takam having a 1 in 4 shot to upset him.

 

Takam is short. He's going to look like a dwarf in there. He pushes his punches. He moves his head and ducks well, so he'll last more than a round. But he takes a lot of punches. Against Joshua, that'll prove disastrous.

Joshua by stoppage in two. Three tops. Joshua will not be tested at all.

 

Then why are you talking about them exclusively? You never talk about speed and skill which are more important. Just because you didn't say it doesn't mean you didn't mean it.

Wow. Takam was only stopped by Povetkin late, and took a pretty good Parker the distance. These two can punch some, yet Joshua blasts him out in 2-3 rounds?

It can happen, but I just can not see that.

If Takam gets blown out early then I'm an AJ fanboy for life. I think it'll go into the late rounds. Takam's tough and knows how to survive. Fights to win as well.

 

Joshua by stoppage 5 to 8 rounds at the most. Demolition job.
