Eddie Hearn says Deontay Wilder has to fight Dillian Whyte in order to get a World Title Shot against Anthony Joshua.

Hearn wants to make the fight between Wilder and Whyte early next year.

I guess Hearn is trying to force Wilder in to raising his profile, since Wilder has not fought a top 20 fighter for almost 3 years.

I like the fight. I give Whyte a very good chance of wearing down and stopping Wilder.

Eddie Hearn must worry about testing the PED, the fight should only be in London without VADA

It makes sense. Wilder knocking out Whyte in London builds up a fight v AJ.

AJ v wilder is a much bigger fight here than in America

    Wilder should go for this.

Would help build the AJ Wilder fight in the UK.

As long as Wilder can step up during that fight, thats the tricky part.

If that were the case Hearn wouldn't of tried making the Wlad rematch in Vegas. And even if he feared VADA he holds all the cards would be very easy for Hearn to ensure VADA are not used.

As for Wilder/Whyte, decent fight but Wilder turned it down once already, I suspect Whyte will need to wait for a mandatory shot. He should be mandatory after he beats Helenius for the WBC silver title.

Yes Wilder should fight Whyte in London, that would be the perfect prep for AJ vs Wilder. It would increase the purse massively.

I agree with both of these statements, Wilder would stand to make much more money going over to the U.K. than trying to get Joshua in Las Vegas or something. Just the idea of converting those Pounds in Dollars are a dream come true (1.00 pound = 1.32 dollar, * roughly $10 million , just a random figure ,$13 million after the exchange.)

That's an extra 3 mill on top that would take care of some of that tax drain and he would still come out with a grip of money. The endorsements, gate, Showtime pay and all that, if I was Wilder I'd be whipping Whyte and preparing to rent a nice apartment in London in preparation for the big fight.

I was always led to believe that the whyte/chisora fight was an elimniator for the wbc title.

    was that bs?

Yep, I sometimes think that Haymon does not advise his guys very well when they pass up big money fights. Quillin, Broner, and ton of other guys are in regret mode. Their loyalty got them fighting once a year. Nobody knows Wilder outside of hardcore fans. When has an American heavyweight champion been so unknown in the history of boxing like it is today? Eddie is getting Joshua $25 mil , Wilder ain't getting that here. How long can Haymon reputation live off of that old Mayweather success?

Fight of the years almost. It should have produced fruit, at least for a rematch if nothing else.

They seem to have one a week these days....

Wilder won't fight Whyte because he want to fight AJ on his own terms but he need to understand where his sits...

Wilder fighting Whyte would help build up a fight vs Joshua IF Wilder wins, the problem is Wilder won't win (because Whyte isn't a complete can), and Wilder probably know this himself (at least his handlers do). So Wilder won't throw away a big payday against Joshua by fighting and losing to Whyte.

This seems a case of putting up roadblocks to me.
Sure Joshi is the bigger name, but to force a fight with one of your stablemates upon a beltholder to get an unification is at best stalling and at worst trying to avoid the fight altogether, with all kinds of nuances inbetween.
Just negotiate the fight after disposing of Takam and Stiverne, and see what comes out.
Sure it's better if Wilder fights a decent Brit and/or an actual top10 opponent for once, but it would sell anyway.

    Joshua is not Hearn is.

Wilder is not the fighter most people bum him up to be. He has not fought a top 20 opponent in almost 3 years, and he has looked poor against 3 of those top 50 opponents.

Wilder will not make it past 3 rounds with Joshua. There are better fights out there for Joshua.
