Wilder seems to have a pattern regarding certain opponents. If a contender without a belt wants to fight him, his response will be, "i only fight for legacy" or "he doesn't have a belt" or "he's on PEDS".

And if it's another belt holder, his response will be "he didn't want the fight" or "he has to come here to go global"

Bull**** have them fight now. Let Wilder get Stiverne out of the way now that Pulev is gone and now they can fight for a unification.

In the grander scheme who cares about Whyte if the Wilder vs Joshua fight occurs

OMG you do realise these guys don't do this for free?? Do you do your job for free or do you expect to be paid for it??

See Hearn and AJ are here to make money the most possible and you never know when to next star will come about..

All they want from Wilder is to do his part to make money and that is getting his profile up in the UK where all the money for this fight will come from..

Yes they can fight now and Wilder can get his 20% cut but do you think Wilder only wants 20%?? No I bet he wants more and why should AJ give him more when no one in the UK nor the USA really know who Wilder is???

Wilder atm brings nothing to the table, nothing over Pulev or Takam so why should ha get anymore??

Its not rocket science but I'm starting to realise that being a Rocket Scientist isn't really a criteria for being a Wilder fan...

I just like unifications. Whyte vs Wilder is only interesting in the sense that Wilder hasnt really fought any good defenses but come on man

Wilder vs Joshua or Wilder vs Whyte? Give me the unification fight any day

Well all like unification s but the realities are Wilder needs to get his profile up to make it worth while for AJ.

Fighting Whyte who I don't think is great but is known as the guy that rocked AJ in the market where all the money for this fight will come from will, providing Wilder does well, make the fight more interesting to the casual fans who love AJ..

I don't think a heavyweight unification really needs extra push it kind of speaks for itself

I mean Parker off the Fury fight is good too but Wilder vs Joshua feels like the fight

only reason why Wilder won't take the Whyte fight is cuz Whyte is too much of a risk and Wilder would prefer to face Joshua straight up without facing anyone else to get there; probably because deep down he knows he's not that good and Whyte could beat him. if Wilder thought in his mind that he could beat Whyte 100% with no concern, that he would have no issue taking the fight and making 3million payday + US tv.

They’re putting 70K in Wembley for freaking Takem (or Pulev before).

Exactly how much “build up” does it need. They gonna expand the stadium if Wilder first beat Whyte, lol?

A heavyweight unification would do extremely well regardless of whether Wilder fought Whyte.

If Whyte is such a hot commodity in the UK, why not just rematch him with AJ without a Wilder fight?

I'd imagine Wilder would want way too much money right now to justify the fight. Why would AJ take a pay cut for Wilder??

If it get managed right they it may turn into life changing money for both of them i.e. Mayweather money but Wilder needs to do the work to get it to that stage..

Why is this so hard to understand???

Yeah, I agree. If Wilder will fight Whyte on this date ... great. I'd like to watch it. And it makes sense for all the reasons mentioned. It makes sense for Wilder, especially with a rematch clause.

However, as we know, Stiverne is his mandatory in a fight he should win with ease. This leaves him with heaps of time to string out his next fight with Charles Martin or whoever can make it into the WBC 15 over the next 6 months. The people behind Wilder seem to have a gameplan of - give us a huge Joshua fight or we will find a way to hold this belt for years. He has injuries he can get, he has the drugs thing, he may have picked up a few tricks from Tyson Fury. If they don't think Whyte is a sure thing, they will probably go down the low risk path for as long as possible by default.

Hearn obviously wants Wilder/Whyte for his and his fighter's agenda. But Wilder has his own agenda. Wilder and his people no doubt think the AJ fight is set up enough by all their hard work building wins against modest opposition. As the posts above say ... in reality, a fight against Whyte isn't really necessary to hype a fight with AJ. Whyte isn't exactly someone with wins against big name US fighters who might give him a profile in the US.

Wilder knows he has his strong cards right now, and he's maybe not the type to come back into the game after a loss. And for all we know Joshua might lose for whatever reason in his next couple of fights.

IMO maybe this is really 'bird in the hand' stuff. Make a Wilder/AJ fight in Feb. if Whyte is a no go.

No-one is going to not watch the fight or not be interested in it because Wilder hasn't beaten Whyte.

Wilder don't have to fight Whyte, for what? Wilder and Joshua are both free to get the show started after their next fight. Hearn is just a control freak and wants to act like he's running things in boxing. He is just another promoter and the Wilder vs Joshua fight will happen, with or without him. It will make huge money whenever it happens or where ever it takes place. Wilder wants it and Joshua is gonna demand it. It will happen and Whyte will be no where in the picture.

No one would watch a heavyweight unification fight between the unbeaten Anthony Joshua and the unbeaten Deontay Wilder for the WBC, WBA, and IBF heavyweight titles ... if Wilder doesn't fight Whyte first?

This might be the single dumbest thing I've read on this board today.

So you’re saying they each make “Mayweather money” if Wilder fights Whyte? How do you figure that? Did Chisora make Mayweather money to fight Whyte? Did AJ? WHO HAS WHYTE EVER BEAT?

OMg I know you're a rabid Wilder fanboi but do you think he will fight AJ with a 80/20 split?

Thats what he bring to the table atm yet Hearn is trying to set him up to get more but him and hos fanboy don't seem to understand this for some reason...

He’ll get far better than that. And fighting Whyte wouldn’t make a bit of a difference.
