Does anyone at 160 today stand a chance against a prime Roy Jones jr?

Why would anybody contemplate touching Roy’s jockstrap?

Roy at 160 gets more credit in fantasy matchups than any fighter I've ever seen.

He was a heck of a fighter, but he beat a grand total of 2 fighters who were ranked at the time, and those 2 fighters themselves didn't have a single win over a rated middleweight at the time. Neither were top 5.

You really got to give him credit for fights above the weight to favor him at 160 as much as he is

No and no although Golovkin of a few years back would have had a chance on account of his chin and power

Roid Jones was a damn ped cheat, hope he continues boxing and gets knocked badly again and again, for cheating and maybe even ruining other boxers career earlier.

Yes he is. And he also has never had a PED stain on his career like both Jones and Tarver have ;)

"RJJ is a bit faster" ?!!! And my Ducati is bit faster than my gfs honda scooter lol! RJJr doesnt have to ko GGG to stop him. Fights also get stopped when one fighter is taking too much punishment and showing no sign of being able to turn the tide because hes just being outclassed.

There's always a chance but Roy in his prime was a phenom. I have yet to see any other boxer with the immense talent and athletic abilities that Roy had in abundance. He found a way to harness those qualities and maximize the finished product through his style and skill set.

He wasn't the most fundamentally sound technical boxer like a Floyd, Toney or Hopkins but his reflexes and unorthodox style allowed him to operate in a way that was extremely difficult for a fighter to prepare for.

The speed and velocity of his punches along with the angles he was able to get off from generated concussive power as well as highlight reel moments that still leave fans baffled. I don't think we will ever see another super man Roy Jones Jr every again. He was one of a kind in his prime.

You're blowing things our of proportion like most people with rose tinted goggles. Canelo has quick hands. At the top level being quicker is just a marginal difference. Stop exaggerating like all of RJJ's fans.

At 160 Roy was one of the fastest and fleet footed fighters from a historical perspective. Unmatched at the physical peak and prime of his career. He could land 4 or 5 left hooks on opponents before they had the ability to react. His speed was a problem for even the fastest guys. The disparity was always evident at that time in his career and showcased the differences in levels that kept him at the #1 spot on the p4p rankings for a decade

Golovkin would have gotten stopped. Defense was too poor, and Roy punched too hard.

Could i have some of whatever youre smoking? Floyd made Canelo look slow, prime Roy makes GGG look like hes fighting in slow motion. It is you blowing canelos speed out of proportion with rose tinted glasses. ARe you kidding me? Comparing RJJr and canelos speed? smdh
