    According to Eddie Hearn.

    What could this mean ?

He maybe was overweight for the Wlad fight, at 250. But he hasn't been 236 -240 since 2014.

I think Joshua was fine at 245, 248.
Maybe he's lowered his dosages and can't quite maintain all that mass ?
    Maybe he's been a little ill ?

Or I'm thinking perhaps Hearn's concerned that word's got around that Takam is only 6'1 against AJ's 6'6 and he's evening it up for the casuals by subtly pointing out Joshua's lesser body weight. Softening them up for some less subtle statements toward that effect later in the week, all pointing towards "You need to buy this fight !"

Or maybe AJ's just fitter and faster at 238.

    Or maybe Hearn's talking bollocks.

Where’s that weight coming from? He can only lose muscle pretty much, dude is ripped...I guess less weights and reduce the calories...

250lbs is too much for him, imo. He is built differently to the likes of Joyce who are muscular but lean at 250-something pounds and Joshua is definitely pumped up beyond what would be a suitable weight. He is a naturally slim guy and a weight of around 240lbs would be more suitable I think.

If he is actually coming in at this weight then he'll have more stamina and will be faster without retaining his power. This would be very good for him. Not sure if Joshua would do this, he seems to love the muscle.

I agree, 250 was too bloated.
But he's been 245, and even 248 several times now.

I'd like to see a 235 version, 240 tops. But I'll believe it when I see it.

Ironically, it is actually 'calories' not steroids, that leads to an increase, or decrease, in weight.

    Technically, yes.
But a 'roid-bloated man will drop weight fast when he comes off the juice.

Why would he sacrifice power for speed? Is it because Takam is so much smaller than Wlad was?

Speed is part of the power equation, don’t think he’d be sacrificing power personally, he’ll still be huge.

I think Joshua could still be powerful at 235-240lbs. Perhaps he would be a fraction less heavy handed but he could be even snappier and explosive with the extra speed, and therefore the power would very much be there. In addition, his stamina would definitely be better than it is atm. These advantages in speed & stamina more than make up for a fractional loss in power, imo.

Despite what Hearn says, I don't think Joshua would come to a fight that light. He's a very good fighter but I think he likes the 'big muscle' physique too much. I can see him continuing to come in at 250lbs or perhaps even more than that. In the future that could potentially be his downfall if he was to come across someone durable enough to take his hits and take him out when he's gassed.

Joshua isn’t coming in lighter because he’s fighting Takam. This was the plan for Pulev because apparently they felt AJ came in too heavy for the Klitschko fight and was blowing out of his ar5e as a result.

This. After the Vlad fight Hearn mentioned how AJ thought he was too heavy and they wouldn't be coming in so heavy again.
