Does anyone at 160 today stand a chance against a prime Roy Jones jr?

Floyd is a natural lightweight. Not exactly an achievement. Shake your head all you want. You are deluded. Does RJJ have extremely quick handspeed? Obviously. IS it vastly quicker than other fighters who also have quick hands? No. Does it even matter for the topic? No. Canelo or RJJs handspeed, it doesn't matter one bit. Both are much quicker than GGG. How does that help RJJ KO GGG again?

Yeah, I've also watched his fights. Not going to write a paragraph about common knowledge though.

No doubt. What's common knowledge to you and I may be a revaluation to others. Share your knowledge. No benefit in keeping it to yourself

Jones was a 180 pound fighter that managed to drain himself to 160 for a few years. That means in the ring, he would have 10-20 pounds on Hagler or Golovkin..or most historical MWs.

Match him up against someone his own size. Jimmy Bivins, Sam Langford, Ezzard Charles, Archie Moore, Rocky Maricano, Jack Dempsey, Michael Spinks, Joe Walcott, Harold Johnson.. I don't see him winning too many of these.

PED’s make it easier to lose weight or gain weight, as well as keep your physical performance to the max.

Jones was never ranked as #1 at 160, but would still make mincemeat out of today's middleweights which I think is a weak division compared to other eras.

It was a great era, and I wish he'd have tested himself at 160 vs the other best middleweights to show where his due ranking in it was. Fighting in a strong era doesn't matter if you don't face the best in it, and at 160, Roy didn't.

As I've posted before, he fought two other ranked middleweights at 160, and the record of those guys against ranked opposition was 0-1 going in to their fights with Roy. Neither were top 5 guys at the time: Hopkins needed 2 more shots to beat a ranked fighter and get a title. It's not like he was top flight at that point and just ran in to the better man: Hops wasn't that level of fighter yet.

It's like if GGG moved up after Proksa. Yeah, winning at a higher weight is nice from a P4P perspective, but it doesn't leave much at 160 to go on even though he looked like a beast.

*I should note that I don't give backward credit. Even if GGG had moved up and knocked out Ward at 168 or 175, that means nothing for his 160 rankability. Zero. Every fighter I rank is subject to that no matter how much of a fan I may be.

Jones made 154 for a number of fights before moving up to 168 5 years after turning pro. He could easily have stayed at 160/168 for longer but wanted capture titles in multiple divisions like his idols did before him. He always said he was chasing historical achievements.
What you essentially said is that this match -up be unfair on Golovkin. I can get behind that , even though i don't think it would be a one sided blow out , i see Jones winning handily.

    Based on.....?

    How he wrecked Jacobs?

    How he wrecked Canelo?

You're just another simpleton who instigates hatred for GG.

You keep saying this over and over.

Give every PED available to GG.

Seriously, what do you think would happen?

Would he turn into an angry and unstoppable Lou Ferrigno?

Or would he suddenly turn into a MW version of Floyd Mayweather who had great technical ability and defence etc?

You've been reading too many comic books.

There's not a PED in the world that could have prevented Roy from hitting him at will.

He'd have needed a different skill set to have beaten Roy, not some magical "Superman" type pills.

Yeah, because these magical beans would not only have given him more power, but also suddenly more ability, where he'd have walked through Roy's shots and penetrated his defence, right?

    Another comic book fan.

Nobody “instigates” or forces you turds to hate anybody. Lol That’s such a lame excuse and you aren’t fooling anybody. So spare us that dumb ****.

Who did glass jaw Jones ever fight at 160 with the skills and power of GGG?? And what do Canelo and Jacobs have to do with this? MUCH different styles than Roid Jones and more durable when tagged.
