The fact of the matter is he was a 32 year old fighter which is not Ancient. And shopworn is an opinion arguable based off performance and context not sheer raw number of fights. We know by 31 Marciano himself was a veteran of many wars and injuries despite not having as many fights.

Your .500 claim is misleading as you very well know since it asks that we ignore the effects of the Maricano fights and the difference between Charles fighting for a title shot and aimlessly competing as a gate keeper. Being deliberately obtuse doesn't accomplish anything. Do you think if you repeat that claim enough, people will just stop being logical and believe it at face value.

No, that's not true, you don't understand this at all. Marciano was a text book Mesomorph, and does not fit any existing definition of an endomorph. You even erroneously claimed Ectomorphs can gain muscle easier when by definition they can't.

The endomorphic body type is the complete opposite of an ectomorph. This individual will usually be larger in appearance with heavier fat accumulation and little muscle definition. They find it hard to drop the weight even though they try several diets or workout programs

    • Large amount of fat accumulation
    • Often fatigue easily
    • Insatiable appetite
    • Try various diet and exercise programs to failure
    • Cannot seem to drop weight
    • Eat larger meals or several smaller sized meals
    • Low muscle definition due to adipose tissue
    • Larger frame
    Notable Endomorphs:
    Examples of male endomorphs include:

    • Philip Seymour Hoffman
    • John Goodman
    • Luther Vandross
    • Jack Black
    • Wayne Knight

In the blue corner: 31 year old Rocky "The Endo" Maricano in the prime of his career.

And in the red corner: 32 year old "Ancient" Ezzard Charles, running on fumes in the twilight of his career.

Especially considering that the man apparently regularly ate large steak and potato dinners during his training camps.

I think Rocky would be 215 today, would he be better for it? Probably not. Is the competition better now than Rockys time? Probably not. Suffice to say I think he would do just fine today.

They didn't carry extra weight they were naturally that weight, that is the crucial difference!

Novice pros bollocks! Tua was having his 28th fight Ike his 17th! Both were top ten ranked!

Anthony Joshua is WBA and IBF World Champion and he 's had 19 fights!
Ali won the world title after17 fights!

No matter. Tua and Ike had far fewer live opponents within the number of fights they both had compared to pre championship Ali! before meeting Sonny, Ali had already mixed with Cooper, Lavorante, Moore, Miteff and Jones. He was an Olympic champion too.

Line up a whole load of quick fall guys and it's not the same. That's why when Ike and Tua met you could tell it was more like two guys practicing, they were so evenly matched, the tempo sacrificed quality. Hence Not a scratch on either guy.

Yes they were naturally huge. What I am saying is what impact did this huge size advantage make on great fighters?

Please explain how Louis was effectively outsized by those two. I shall enjoy reading about how these two were not as good as naturally huge recent title holders like Charles Martin.

All Rocky would have to do to be champion of this era is beat Charles Martin

They were ranked heavyweights not novice pros and that's the bottom line.

I didn't say he was.My point is they were naturally that size and beefing up Marciano to 220/230lbs would not be natural for him.

Why would Rocky need to beef up to fight Charles Martin? That's all Joshua had to beat to become a champion of this era.

And yet you have said Cleveland Williams was a novice for his 28th fight. You need to be consistent with this kind of thing old chum.
