More of Marcus McDonnells handiwork: He was involved in robbing Obadai sai v Jamie cox too..... http://boxrec.com/en/event/626178/1618893
It will take as much time to send an email and lodge an official complaint as it will to post here, I just did it, whether it makes a difference or not who knows but let them know your feelings and put a bit of heat on McDonnell or who ever else was involved ! This content is protected
Email sent and I have also asked them why Terry 'Ten Bellies' O'Connor is STILL both a referee and judge following a pile of scandalous cards.
FWIW here is the email I sent the BBBoC..... I've been a dedicated fan for well over 40 years and I've never felt compelled to complain to the BBBoC before. But Marcus McDonnells scoring of the Hyland v ormonde clash in Belfast was just too much. It is simply not possible for an honest, competent official to return a 117-110 score against Ormonde in the manner your BBBoC official, McDonnell, did. Is he an innocent incompetent or criminally corrupt? If the former then it calls into question the competence of those in the Board who deem him fit to Judge fights. If the latter, then even more serious issues arise for those at management level in the Board. In either case he is not fit to officiate fights. I hope action will be taken in this case. (I don't hold out much hope for major change but every long journey begins with a single step) Sent from my iPad
I used to work at the same company as Marcus McDonell. He's honestly one of the nicest positive dudes you'll ever meet, the guy doesn't have a corrupt bone in his body.
Well that's reassuring to hear, I never intended to do a hatched job on a "nice guy". Indeed he may well not be corrupt at all. But there is SOMETHING wrong with the guy. It is just not possible to justify the scorecard he returned. Who knows what's going on in people's lives? How well do we really know people in today's superficial world? Who knows what pressures people are under?
Not sure McDonnell was scoring this bout, Never worked for him so no idea if hes a nice guy or not but i'm sure this is a case mistaken identity. Also maybe little point writing to the BBBoC as it was an IBF fight. Is it slander or liable for wrongful accusations for being criminal corrupt i can never remember?
You have ignored the real issue.why? You find the score of 117-110 against Ormond acceptable? How do you account for this score?
Not at all Ormond should have won. It looked as if you were blaming McDonnell and the BBBoC, it would appear both had little to do with it. The expression "Ready, Fire, Aim" comes to mind. Emailing the BBBoC without the facts and encouraging others to do so would seem unwise if not an ulterior motive. But yes Ormond should have won your right there..
I was wrongly informed that mr McDonnell was the o e who turned inthe 117-110 score against Ormond. He didn't...but he was an official at the fight..referee and therefore he and his board are implicated, like it or not...
I thought a ref was only there to keep fighters safe and police the ring. Down to the judges to score. If it had been stopped early maybe the ref could be brought into question. In the same way if the fight was stopped it wouldn't be the judges doing. Would be interested to know what Mcdonnell though, he may think Ormond should have won it too.
I have to say the 117-110 Hyland Jr card is one of the worst card I've seen in years, I still can't get my head around it.
