Yes Takam can beat Joshua, our sports history is littered with episodes of the underdog defeating the Champ, but i cannot see Takam joining that illustrious band. He could present Joshua with new challenges, as one might expect from a boxer with twice as many bouts under his belt, but can see only one result, AJ having too much armament and another ko loss being on Takems record.
Takam has no mobility or power. He has decent inside work, but he couldn't put a dent in Povetkin. Takam also doesn't have much handspeed or stamina. Whyte before he gassed out did well when he beat Joshua to the punch with his handspeed, but when he waited Joshua would clobber him. Wlad came in light, used lots of movement, stayed on his toes was timing Joshua with left hooks and straight rights. Takam doesn't have a chance.
I think he'll put up a better fight than Pulev. While Pulev is arguably a better fighter than Takam, he has the wrong style for Joshua, Joshua would of plowed right through him whenever he wanted. Wlad was able to jump in with hooks to get passed the jab of Pulev, who is too flat footed to get out of the way. But once inside they both just clinched. When Joshua gets in that position he won't just clinch like Wlad did, allowing Pulev to recover, he'd open up and Joshua showed he's too strong to be effectively clinched and uses his forearm to prevent that from happening, so when Pulev tries to clinch Joshua, AJ will break out like he did vs Wlad and rip follow up shots on Pulev that Wlad couldn't. Would be a miracle if Pulev lasted more than 3 rounds. Takam is tough, the Breazeale fight showed AJ's power has it's limits, I think Takam's aggression will make it more exciting and force AJ to box more than he would need vs Pulev, plus his durability will mean he'll last a lot longer than Pulev would have. Takam won't win, but I think he's going to give us a better fight than some might expect.
I think Joshua beat this tomato can but who knows as weak of a chin Joshua has. I think Joshua will finish the bum early but Joshua's bad chin and stamina is going to cost him a fight if he ever fights a live body.
I agree takem could prove more durable than pulev but I don't think he's any more of a threat. Takam may last past the 4 round max I was giving pulev but he's too small and is getting pummeled
Not sure what you've seen but the wlad fight proved Aj has a Great elite chin. weak? Where you getting this rubbish from ?
It's not an elite chin. He stiffens up when clipped and that exposes him to being ko'd. Wlad just let him off the hook.
Takam is woefully overrated. He doesn't have much of a chance. He won't be able to set a fast pace to tire AJ and gasses himself. Takam power is meager at the contender/champion level. Takam's boxing isn't advanced at any stretch of the imagination. Pretty easy defence for AJ.
Unless Joshua lands an early bomb, or Takam's heart, stamina and will aren't what they used to be, this could be a somewhat competitive fight. Joshua needs to pace himself in the mid rounds, and Takam if he's still young enough ( age 36 ) could in theory give Joshua some trouble. If Takam was 3 years younger, we would see Johsua tested. My best guess is he has declined a bit since the Povetkin fight, and Joshua will be able to land on the outside and pick his shots vs the much older and shorter Takam. Not a bad sub though. I look forward to the fight, and for the sake of the division, Joshua MUST win.
I think Joshua will beat Takam probably get a knock out sometime in the first 5 rounds I think Takam will hang tough and make a fight of it but will be overwhelmed.
If Whyte can rock Joshua then Takam can also, he can give him a brutal uppercut and then there's a new heavyweight champion.
