Wen our kid boxed josh he said josh wasn't a hard hitter but u knew u had been caught. He said the volume of punches take the tole if u ay in great shape he also said he hit as hard in the 10th as the first round.

Also think people get carried away with Selby power since the Smith ko but his not the big puncher his made out to b by some.

See that's where I think the opposite, I think people underrate Selbys power because of his low KO rate, when in fact he just usually boxes to plan and doesn't force the issue. Which admittedly has produced a fair few stinkers in the last few years

Apart from all-out workmate, Selby does everything that bit better and crisper than Warrington. Neither are particularly big one-shot hitters, but for me, Selby also hits harder than Warrington.

With Warrington, more often than not his stoppages come due to an accumulation of shots landed. Bearing that in mind, and factoring in Selby's defensive slickness and superb control of distance and tempo, can you really see Warrington stopping Selby or taking a decision from him?

Will Warrington actually take the fight this time?

The Martin Lindsay fight is one which springs to mind: great performance, but a reasonably dull fight for reasons which you've stated.

Had he wanted to put his foot down and really forced the issue, Selby could've stopped Lindsay in the 8th or 9th round. As it was, he outclassed and befuddled Lindsay while cruising through the rounds in second gear, to the point whereby he looked thoroughly bored during the final third.

I don't think Selby has to be in top gear to beat Warrington, I think there is a bit of a gulf between the two.

I think Selby beats Frampton too. Selby vs GRJ is the bout of the division I feel, but doubt we would ever see it.

YoU are joking arnt u mate. Selbys defence is average at best. The only part of his defence that is decent is at long rang. In mid and short rang his defence is poor. And its very poor for a world level fighter.
Take the hunter fight for example. Hunter caught selby clean once every rd with the left hook except two rds where he caught him clean twice. One of them been rd2 where hunter floored him.

No Mate i dont consider i do.
You need to watch selbys defence in short and mid range. I would class it as poor for a world level fighter. I do agree that his long range defences are good.
Tbf mate selby is a real good fighter..he does some things really well and some things hes not that good at. Hes not special Tho.
Someone like frampton i would class as special.

Agreed. He's levels above Warrington. Warrington has ducked him for years.

I think Selby power has took a big nosedive with his struggles to make weight, I think if Selby lives up to SFW he would suddenly start hitting quite a bit harder. What he must put his body through to make 9st must be torture. Nevertheless would strongly fancy him to beat Warrington.
