Andrade had his first fight as a middleweight last night and I want everyone's thoughts on how he will do in the middleweight division.

Let's discuss his strengths & weaknesses and his overall ability; and how it will translate to the middleweight division. Where does it go from here?

Which middleweights could you see Andrade beating? Could you see him beating the top dogs (GGG, Canelo, Jacobs) of middleweight division?

Given his abilities, who should he fight next? What opponents would best suit him? and which don't?

    Discuss.

He's good but boring. He's kind of like Lara, the boxing version of ambien. Plus, he has no ambition. Andrade had a fight scheduled with Jermell Charlo three years ago that would have put him on the map, but he dropped out at the last minute and sulked in a corner for three years because he thought the money wasn't right. If he was gonna' have a good career it would have kicked off then. He's pushing 30 now and probably gonna' pass on any big fights he gets offered against top opponents eeking out a living fighting overmatched journeymen. Maybe, he'll wait for a mandatory spot against Canelo/Jacobs/Charlo whoever inherits the crown from Golovkin, but I can't see him chasing fights.

Good move from him money wise - 160 is red hot having two biggest names GGG and Canelo, couple of US natives creating some interest (Charlo, Jacobs) and then very good Asian, European, Ukrainian and Canadian stars. Money is in 160 for the next 3-4 years.

As a boxer he doesn´t have the same size or reach advantages as he had in 154 but he is faster than the most in the division. He wont have a prayer against Golovkin, but against other top 10... He will win some and loose some against Devy, Lemmy, Jacobs, Charlo, Murata and Saunders. I would say he Devy and Lemmy are bad match ups because their styles and power as BoBo is quite small. IMO he does better against boxer-movers Charlo, Canelo, Saunders and Jacobs. He should fight Lee, N´Dam or Murray next.

Really, really........ really........ really......... really.... poorly.

His power is below average at the weight. He's on borrowed time.

Reach advantages? I think you will find the top 154lbers have reach equal or greater than the top 160lbers.

Booboo is 6ft1 which is taller than pretty much all of the top 160lbers, he just fought a giraffe in his 1st fight that made him look smaller

I said same reach or size advantages as in 154 division. At 154 his opponents have been smaller with shorter reach, relatively speaking.

That said he might be taller and have longer reach than current top middleweights GGG, Canelo, Saunders and Lemmy. Jacobs has better reach though.

    Willie Nelson= 6ft3
    Vanes Matirosyan= 5ft11.5
    Brian Rose= 6ft

Jacobs is only listed as 5ft11.5-6ft, with 73" reach, Andrade is listed as 6ft1" with 73.5" reach

God damn! How can they make weight is unbelievable. I wasn't aware jacobs isn't bigger than that - he looked like a CW against GGG.

So you are probably right - Andrade will have the same reach and height advantages at 160 as he had at 154.

At least we know If he doesn't make it at 160, it's due to competition not the size factor..

Depends on how his chin holds up, which is suspect at best.

    He will get KTFO.

Assuming, that is, that he steps up to a Golovkin or a Lemieux or a Jacobs/Murata/Derevyanchenko or even a Lee or Khurtsidze. If he gets hold of a low-hanging fruit title and milks it for a bunch of defenses over the likes of Soliman or Rose then he can probably avoid getting found out at 160.
