I doubt it Frampton is a BT Fighter and is heavily advised by MTK,such as Macklin etc.Macklin regularly appears on Sky for punditry, also rumous going about on saturday, Sky cutted their analysis and ended the progamme quickly,as they had a agreement with BT/BN,to finish up if their main event was finished by then,in time for BT's.I actually think, their is improving relations and a better rapport being created between BT and Sky.
Quick Summary. Degale Shouldn't have went to USA Could have been a PPV Star in UK Wanted a fight in December which Eddie couldn't give him for the money he wanted. Lee Selby Same Story as above basically
Hearn in that interview pretty much confirmed that Warren is overpaying DeGale (and probably Frampton) which is why they have gone there. Suppose Frank's got to use that BT money for something.
He doesn’t exactly have a choice I’d imagine. He needs to get these names even if he is overpaying them now. So he can prove to other fighters they can trust what is happening over there and they can have a career there
James degale retweeted this an hour ago James DeGale has not signed a promotional deal with Frank Warren, very much on a fight-by-fight basis.
Problem with DeGale is he is used to big pay days and thinks he’s a ppv headliner and he’s not. The headliner who owns ppv show eg AJ wants to pay DeGale huge money from their pot as it doesn’t make commercial sense.
Guess it's a long term investment strategy, lose money on these fighters/shows now in the hope of being able to produce PPV shows in 2018 for BT.
I dont get how this PPV will work on BT/Boxnation.Boxnation Customers pay seperately and i'm sure a good chunk of their subscribers have got Boxnation through Sky.With GGG v Canelo we saw BT Sport Subscribers and Sky had to pay the PPV Fee and not BN Subs. This was actually a very honest and good move by Warren, but if they want to get real money, and a direct competitor to Sky,and not happy being No.2,i dont see how they will get enough buys from Sky and BT Customers to pay extras when BN subscribers will be getting it as part of their monthly package.Frampton in reality, all his Target Market are Irish he is not Worldwide, even though he has fought stateside.I dont know maybe in a years time it will look a lot healthier, but i dont see their Infrastructure needed to make Regular PPV's work on BT/BN.
PPV money is made through the casuals... BN subscribers will not be casuals they will be hardcore boxing fans willing to pay to watch as much boxing as they can but in reality there numbers are small. BN subscriber numbers will be a drop in the ocean if FW/BT can get there PPV shows into the attention of casuals
I don't think a Copperbox show with Degale headlining against a top 15 guy is really going to shift many subscriptions/PPVs. Degale can't really chase the big domestic fights at his weight because of they are all tied up in the WBSS.
Could be wide of the mark Here, but given Amir Khan has been saying he wants to fight in December could be pop up on the card? Guessing Bradley Skeete is likely as well?
Copperbox. Degale, Selby, yarde with Amir Khan? I fail to see how it doesn’t lose money as it is let alone adding an Amir Khan.
