Seems like the transition from mma to boxing is becoming the norm... Soooo

How far do you see this mans skills taking him?

 

He'll get chinned by a guy at British level.

Especially if he shows that much arrogance.

 

Imitated roy jones pretty well... a lil Emmanuel Augustus too...lol

 

It's just pretty embarrassing when doing it on your debut against a guy who has 2 wins and 11 defeats.

 

It's not hard to showboat against a guy like Castano who gets knocked out for a living. Will be interesting to see how he goes against someone with a pulse.

 

The light heavy boxing scene is too thick for him to come in with his hands down if he has not been doing it since childhood. He better keep that Bellator contract on deck.

 

Hate it when Boxers showboat in mismatches.

 

May fight for a British southern are title.....be very surprised if he goes 5 fights without a loss.

Will he ever step up though? When he eventually fought a guy with a pulse in MMA he lost.

 

Tbh he has enough talent to get to British level now without much improvement just a better game plan. He could win a title if he fought a Tommy Langford type bloke for sure but there aren't too many British champions as poor as Tommy.

Getting past British level will take dedication and no short cuts. He will get bombed out by anyone approaching World level at present.

I don't mind the smack talk but I actually think he was extremely boring to watch. All he did was show boat and mock his opponent and hardly threw a punch. It got annoying quickly, I think he might be more entertaining when he fights a bloke that comes to fight. I think he should fight JJ McDonagh next, that would be a really good entertaining scrap.

 

I think that is the reason he may never fully step into boxing. MMA does not have the social lashing boxing does when you take a loss. He's 30 already, if he wanted to box on a level where he makes decent money he would be throw to the wolves. It's already thick at 175, especially after Ward retired and the belts were freed up. I don't think he can collect the British title without getting roughed up a lot. He couldn't KO a living heavy bag with the same punch he laid MMA guys out with because of the gloves and his punch placement.

 

I agree, it's disgusting, Jonathan Custo is a guy who needs to retire if he dosn't want to lose his health

I reserve my thoughts until I see more of him, because the last couple of years I've seen British guys look pretty damn bad in their early fights, only to make big strides along the way.

He's off to a bad start with his irritating more showboating as actual punching, so right now I'm rooting for him to get KO'd cold against some journeyman soon.

 

If he showboats like that against an opponent that isn't a knock over job he'll get KOd, telegraphed too many punches

And anyone with any will to win he will not keep at bay, he didn't have much power at all with the boxing gloves on
