Who won more rounds is debatable. I've said from the beginning that it's a close fight and could go either way depending on what you prefer. (quality punches or quantity of punches) Though generally more times than not, the person that lands the harder more effective more impactful punches usually wins the fight. Not always, but landing a bomb on an opponent is certainly a way for a fighter to win a close round. I have no problem with you or anyone else thinking that G won more rounds due to G landing more overall punches, by coming forward more, by just being more active than Canelo. However, I personally had Canelo winning because I value the harder, more quality punches that he landed more than G's more basic, generally ineffective glancing, partly blocked punches. For example, were Canelo's big punches in Rounds 8 & 9 enough for him to win the round? G fans would say "No", I would say "I'm not sure, it was close". Byrd said "Yes". When you have a guy landing the better punches and another guy being more active and landing more overall punches, it makes for hard to score rounds. Still even without Round 8 & 9, I still can find 7 other rounds that Canelo won (1,2,3,4,10,11,12) just on controlling the action and landing about as many or more punches than G. I don't expect you or everybody to agree with me, that's just how I saw the fight. If you had G winning Round 4, for example, I can totally understand that. (it was real close)
Couldn't agree more. I got tons of hate for posting my breakdown of that fight but that is almost exactly how I saw it. https://imgur.com/gallery/lKcAK
