Frank Warren is an awful, behind the times promoter & Frampton/DeGale have committed career suicide

Thing is im not a fan of either promoter im a fan of boxing. Warren has been **** overall in the last few years, nobody can deny that. I didnt dare buy a ticket to his shows for a good while.

He seems to be on the way back with the help of BT and that can only be a good thing for boxing and force Sky/Matchroom back on the offensive to make better fights more consistently. Lets not hate on all this before its really started! Get behind it! support his shows! Support boxing ffs!

 

Frank is arguably Europe's most successful boxing promoter. He's s developed and maintained numerous elite fighters.

I enjoy Warren's boxnation shows more than Sky plus his promotion bring you a lot of international fights Pac-Man, GGG, Canelo, Cotto, Lomachenko, Rigondeaux etc

Plus lighter weight World title fights like Rungvisai vs Gonzalez who had two fights on boxnation, for the boxing fan boxnation is a far better option than Hearns Sky deal who's main focus is now Joshua PPV shows !

That's irrelevant on a viewing perspective , doesn't matter how big a show is if its crap, look at Hearns use of Joshua milking the PPV cow, the facts are simple Hearn has not delivered the quality of boxing fights that Warren has in recent years, he's had a few good ones but also a lot o mediocre shows with the left side of the bill beating the right side !

 

Some interesting points in this thread showing arguments from several perspectives.

Frank has always been content holding WBO belts hostage. He doesn't seem to be a risk taker whereas Eddie will roll the dice every now and then. Sticking AJ in with Klitschko was a genuine 50/50 and was proven in the product result. There is no doubt he is a HoF promoter but he has failed to modernise. He was great with traditional media but is clueless about digital formats.

I think Eddie is struggling to keep a lid on the AJ bandwagon and has put most of efforts into developing that. Until that bubble bursts any other Matchroom fighter will simply be second fiddle.

Well that's exactly it, he run's an old school TV channel which aside from outside broadcaster content mostly shows re runs of his vast VHS boxing tape collection. A good idea but failed in the execution. How about a complete internet streaming boxing portal with an accessible back catalogue and also showing exclusive content from other broadcasters, dedicated you tube, twitter, facebook and freeview content. He could have been a pioneer of internet sports TV. Without BT his assets would now be being liquidised.
