The robbery is that I pay for the full sky package ( I got a good price rang up to cancel ) including sky sports but like you say you don't need a subscription to buy the event. Yet it costs me the same amount of money to buy the PPV no discount for being a sky sports monthly subscriber. I'll be watching it down the pub

AJ could be fighting the alleyway wino and he would still be PPV.

And given the quality of this opponent, I fail to see why he is being criticised. He is facing a universally accepted top 10 HW, and an opponent higher than anything Deontay Wilder has ever faced.

The odds are not reflective of how difficult a fight this could potentially be for AJ. AJ has never faced an elite level pressure fighter and therefore there are questions for him to answer here.

What would people accept as a tougher test than this? I would say Parker and Povetkin are both tougher, but I guarantee there would be very wide odds in AJs favour for fighting those 2, and they are universally recognised as top 5 HWs.

What do we learn from threads like this? Haters are going to Hate

It's not at all a robbery though.

People who think because they pay for sports they have a right to every sport are delusional.

Sports cost about £10 a month. You get boxing, football, golf, cricket, formula 1, rugby, tennis, WWE, darts etc.

Honestly Hearn and AJ could charge so much more for this than £20. But they don't.

Yes, I'm aware that 90% of people who watch him don't watch any other boxing. So how does this legitimise them being charged that to view him? Just because they're that stupid to buy it does that make it right? In other walks of life that would be called exploitation of the uninformed. Forget supply and demand. Plus this is my point, what about the real boxing fans who watch Hearn's shows regularly?

Suppose it's just how the world and in particular the sporting world is now though. There will be thousands of people at the footy today who don't care about the team or result shelling out £500 quid for a cooked meal and prawn sandwiches.

Not having a go. But it's £27.50 a month for all that.

I'm buying it. I like AJ and it will be a spectacle.

If you don't feel it's value for money don't buy. You have that option.

An 8 fold accumulator with all the favourites tonight is 8/15 with Coral!! 8/15 on for an 8 fold is pathetic whatever way you dress it up.

The thing that has annoyed me the most tonight is that it’s £19.95...

The PPV bracket was £15.95 and £19.95, i know people will say “it’s only £4” but it’s the principle.

The £19.95 was premium fights, but now that Joshua is that price for a mandatory, how much will Sky/Eddie charge for Wilder or Whyte - £30? £40? We’re on the path to US PPV

It won't go that high. They could have put McGregor v Mayweather higher if they wanted.

Mayweather McGregor was 5am and despite the brands of both men, it was an America v Ireland.
Joshua v Wilder for 3 belts plus the linear title at Wembley, they could charge what they want, the scary thing is they know that.

It legitimises it because they WANT to watch AJ! How can you not understand that??

iPhones cost about a tener to make but they sell them for £1000! This is much worse 'exploitation' but guess what, not a single person is 'forced' to buy it.

Exactly the same with the fight tonight, people WANT to watch Anthony Joshua fight.

It's not being fleeced, these people aren't stupid, at the end of the day they are more than happy to spend a measly £20 to watch their favourite sports star.

It's 0.1% of the average income in this country, your making out like they are getting loans and credit cards to follow him!

Football is a 100x worse than boxing.

Yet it broke the ppv record. They could of put £10 more on the cost and still would of sold.
