Anthony Joshua vs. Carlos Takam & Khalid Yafai vs. Sho Ishida + Whyte vs. Helenius RBR.

This. Whyte is too basic and slow to do anything to Wilder. Whyte also waits too long to let his hand go. If Whyte would've let his hands go more he could've got the stoppage.

 

Is Whyte the guy who can exploit Wilder's flaws? I doubt it. Wilder leaves himself dangerously open and 100% off-balance while punching forward with the worst technique. This calls for counterpunching with quick hands. Whyte is slow as hell. His punches are so slow even a plodding and shot Helenius could easily evade so many of them. Wilder wouldn't have a problem keeping his chin out of harms way IMO.

 

Not completely untrue... But still had really good attributes that set him apart from most heavyweights at the time. We never got to see what Helenius was fully capable of because his prime was robbed by injuries, promotional issues and inactivity. Regardless of what you think of him... He was significantly better than the guy who showed up tonight back in 2009-2011. Don't see how anyone could argue that.

 

Definitely questionable chin.

 

He 100% has a sub par chin but excellent powers of recovery - at least while he is in his youth.

 

The sickening thing is I didn't even order this, my wife did, she thought she was being thoughtful and nice, I came home earlier and she said "oh I've already ordered the fight for you..."

Errr I pay the bill, I feel like I've been mugged twice, once by Eddie Hearn and now my wife will expect me to return some sort of nice gesture.

 

Why don't they show the fight?

 

In the build up the last couple of weeks he has been bigging up the fact that Cordina was boxing in Wales. Although tbf creepy Adam Smith is the Head of Sky Boxing so he's probably to blame.

 

Because of ******ed casuals who have paid just to see AJ.

So far most of the fights on this card have been stinkers. Let's hope Joshua/Takam is action packed.

 

I'm not saying he is... But he has a shot. Wilder has looked awful and extremely beatable in all of his title fights. He hasn't improved at all since winning the title, Stiverne is still easily the most disciplined performance he's put on.

If Washington, Szpilka, Molina and Duhaupas can have success against Wilder counting out Whyte completely is a bit silly. At some point he's bound to lose to one of these types, he's rolling the dice every time he fights.
