Johnny Nelson said it was a bad stoppage on Sky. But predictably not one question was asked about the ref, froch saying it was a good stoppage. Typical.

This fight did answer some questions about Joshua for me. Joshua doesn't deal well body and head movement and he's very susceptible to walking into hooks to the body. Takam was smart to come in light, but just didn't have the power to hurt Joshua. Joshua's timing also needs a lot of work, since Takam was wide open to the uppercut and would've been put on the floor if Joshua landed one in the later rounds.

Agreed he isn't so far ahead of the competition as some would make you believe. I mean Takam is a world class heavyweight, when has he ever been not competitive? Yet people expecting him to be blown out like a nobody.

Joshua has a lot going for him but he has weaknesses that can be exploited, but the question is, is anyone good enough right now to exploit them fully.

I will also add that Joshua's uppercut is becoming a serious, serious weapon, it changed the direction of the fights with Whyte, Wlad and now Takam. It's not a punch you want to get hit with, it's a game changer.

There is a lot of biased opinion here, take it all with pinch of salt. Yes the stoppage was bad, but come on Takam was outclassed tonight, he won a single round and perhaps was even in one other round. Joshua never once looked in trouble through-out the fight. Takam showed immense fighting spirit and bravery.. but be real. He took a beating.

A compilation of Amir Khan's KO losses usually does it for me.

As much as I love Froch, sadly he's turning me off as a fan bit by bit with every passing event he calls.

This is very true. Look at the gruesome cut Bellew got in his fight with Bolonti. It was early in their fight (the 2nd IIRC) and was probably bad enough to warrant a technical stoppage. But because Bellew was the house fighter on the show in question, he was given the benefit of the doubt and allowed to continue. However, had the boot been on the other foot and Bolonti, the away fighter, suffered that same nasty cut in the 2nd round, the referee and the doctor would've probably pulled the plug in that same round, or halfway through the 3rd round at the very latest.

Joshua essentially won all rounds. But that was far from a outclassing.

Wladimir either would´ve stopped or outboxed Takam in 12 rounds. You would have no one second guessing his skills and everybody could see that he is 2-3 levels above his opponent.

If it was some sustained beating over rounds I get it.. it wasn't. Let's be real. Outside of just a few rounds Joshua hardly landed at all.

The drama was from the cuts.. the first part of the fight before the cuts was Wlad old man era boring.

When was the time of the stoppage, basically did the over hit?

As someone who also got a gift of a stoppage in a British ring against George Grove in their first fight, I’m not surprised that Froch thought it was a good stoppage tonight.
