Anthony Joshua is pretty good for a 20-0 fighter.
He's never been anywhere near as good as his hype machine says he is.
    He may still improve.

His skin-of-teeth TKO win over a 17-month inactive, 41 year old, coming-off-a-loss Klitschko is BY FAR his career highlight and may always be.

People love him because he punches hard and has a superhero physique.
He's never yet shown himself to be much of a BOXER though.

Go and take a look at Audley Harrison if you believe Olympic gold medals are a sure sign of great boxing ability.

Harrison lacked fighting heart when the going got tough. Duff point you`ve attempted to make.

my own on the takam v AJ prediction thread i will trace brighton bombers off it

"" i like takam as a opponent better than pulev in terms of spectacle

i beleive pulev would have tried to spoil /complain to the ref /hold and just try to use a jab and clinch making an ugly fight.

takam is a much more fan friendly fight.

takam IMO will not fold easily either and will need grinding down

the 1 or 2 round blowout some people are predicting cannot have seen much of takam if anything at all
he has good feet early / knows what he is doing /has a solid chin /has a lot of physical strength /

but on the downside he is giving away a lot of height /length /speed / to aj will have to be prepared to take power punches to get inside and when he does he is only a heavy clubbing arm puncher no real snap on his shots .

aj showed v wald he knows how to blcok /slip a left hook which is takam favourite power punch.

takam on offense is not a bad fighter /rumbles forward using his tank like build but his offense when not using his jab is basic and throws to wide a combos but his streught looks predigous and some shots will land.

aj is much more shorter and precise puncher in his offense and obviously hits harder.

aj is not going to lose many rounds as takam is passive faking and feinting for the first 2 mins tries to wait for the last min to let his hands go.

this could go the distance / although i think when takam legs slow down he is going to start shipping a lot of leather and joshua will win in 7 to 10 rounds.

Joshua must take too many cheat days to be tiring so much.

brighton bombers on the same thread was

"I don't think it will be a quick KO for AJ. Takam is pretty durable and Breazeale showed AJ can't just blow everyone away. I expect Joshua to grind him down and stop him in the middle rounds.

but i read a much longer analysis by him on this fight but i would have to look up all his posts and i go to work at 5am sunday mornings.

AJ's been brought down to Earth from the lofty heights he was floating about in. We now know the gulf between him and the rest of the pack is not as earth shaking as it once seemed, and that he is beatable by a number of fighters currently operating in the division (not Wilder though).

I still rate Josh as clear number one, but his bubble of invincibility has been a bit deflated tonight. Parker is suddenly back in with a great chance.

I don’t get the hate for AJ. Despite a last minute switch to a better fighter, it was still a clear win for AJ. He dropped Takam, cut him over both eyes and only lost 1 round. He will have learnt more in 2017 than Wilder in his entire career

Oh Christ he won't what like all but one round? At best? And he was exposed? Yes his stamina is bad but that is fixable to an extent if he drops 8-10 lbs of weight.

I wouldn't say he was exposed, Takam is a good top 10 level HW, probably the 2nd best HW Joshua has fought in his career so far. I expected him to give it a good go. I was disappointed by the ref giving Joshua a few breaks when it looked like he was getting winded.
