Yeah whyte just doesn't impress me at all, but he'd worked his way up to his contendership so I can't really complain about the guy. But with guys like Whyte in the mix and guys Like USYK and Gassiev potentially moving up soon, there's no doubt in my mind that they'd definitely fit in with the divisions top guys.

All valid reasons to pick Joshua, but still: Takam was 8 yrs old, even shorter, etc., and still made a fun fight.

IIRC, Abel Sanchez said Gassiev would bulk up to about 225-230 when he moves up to HW. I'm not sure how much he enters the ring at now but one thing I noticed is he still looked healthy and fresh faced on the scales at the weigh in for the Wlod fight. I'll try and find out how much he weighs in the ring the next time he's interviewed on Bayloric sports, which I'm sure he will be before the Dorticos fight.

He looked way more buffed in the fight against Lebedev. BUT I feel like he cleaned the fat parts of his body and is becoming an muscular animal.

He did and he has my respect and admiration for being a real gladiator! Let’s not rewrite the story of the fight though, Takam was outgunned, outworked and systematically beaten up by the poorest version of Anthony Joshua I’ve seen in 10 fights.

He was a long way behind on the cards, badly cut over both eyes, doesn’t have the power or KO punch to turn the fight around and was beginning to take punishment with no chance of winning the fight. On top of that the Dr had told the Ref to stop it if Takam got into more trouble because the cuts couldn’t be allowed to get any worse.

Usyk shouldn’t be aiming to fight Joshua any time soon.

I never really noticed to be honest but I just had a quick look (very brief) and you might be right about that. It'll be interesting to find out how much he does rehydrate after the weigh in.

See how usyk looks at he against someone in the top 10 at hw. With that said My guess would be he would struggle with AJ reach and size and power. Imo usyk would have to walk a tightrope to win.

Time will tell, but Usyk would out box Joshua that's for sure!

Usyk on points and I've always said it.

Usyk is levels above AJ in every department except power, if he can take AJ's power which I think is a tad overrated then he'll cruise to a clear win, I've never seen Usyk hurt.

Clean up cruiserweight then come and take AJ's hype.

Usyk is too superior in technique, combination, footwork and ring smarts to allow himself to get overwhelmed AJ's one dimensional bully boy tactics

Remember, Takum is 6'1. He gave up 5 inches and still wasn't overawed or intimidated by AJ's size and power. Not to mention he is another old man on the wane.

Usyk is 6'3, isn't on his last legs and hits like a mule.

To beat Joshua as the small man you need something quite special. I think Usyk has got that something special, but there's no easy answer to AJ's handspeed and power.

If I had to pick just one fighter who could beat Joshua in the next couple of years it would be Usyk. The other heavyweights are poor in comparison. I'm not counting the one in danger of pulling the moon into the earth with his gravitational mass.

I'm still not very confident Usyk could take it.
I feel Joshua at the moment.

If Usyk chin is at least semi-granite then he'd win on points.

I hope we get to see this. Usyk has tremendous potential, his boxing ability is obvious for any real student of the game. What he lacks in size at heavyweight he makes up for with an abundance of skill.

His movement alone would give Joshua nightmares. But we have to see him at heavyweight to get a real idea of how he does. That extra weight may slow him down, his power may suddenly become less than impressive and how does his chin hold up. He showed a good chin vs Joyce when they fought but I think Joshua hits a damn lot harder than Joyce.
