why do I keep reading this **** this morning?

It was one of his poorest performances and he still managed to do what Parker couldn’t!

I think that nose ****ed him and yeah he came in slightly heavy too.

    He’s the unified world champion.

He’s stopped everyone he’s ever faced! The KO show rolls on. Long live the king.

The talk about him being exposed, about how Wilder and Parker deserve 50/50 based on one lacklustre performance, about how Chisora and Pulev would **** him up, about how Takam gave the world a blue print despite winning no more than three rounds (if you're generous) is all hogswash. I've seen all of these posted in the last 12 hours and it's all malarkey.

But there are also posts saying he's a definite ATG in the making, and Larry Holmes even said he'd knock out a prime Iron Mike FFS!!

So yeah, he's still a little overrated, but also the subject of irrational hate. By and large in equal measure. He's the #1 HW in the world, no more, no less.

people are WAYYY too 'trigger happy' on here sometimes
condemning Joshua after this fight is akin to comparing him to great heavies of the past - he's young, he's only recently had his 'coming out' fight (against wlad), and adversity against bigger and better opponents is what will shape him as a fighter as well as his legacy

he's only under the microscope now because he's seen as the man to beat (since, unlike wilder, he fought and defeated the best HW of the last 10 years), and we can only hope that wilder sees Joshua as an itch that he needs to scratch

Funny thing is, if the referee HAD let the fight go on another 30 seconds, we wouldn't be hearing half this bullshite.

But poor old Takam way well have been going home in a coffin.

Absolutely no doubt the referee saved him, now he gets to home and see his family thanks to the heroics of the referee.

He's still the man to beat, yes but this unified world champion title is misleading and to the general public makes it sound like he the sole champion of the HW crown. He holds 2 titles but there are 2 other men that hold world titles.

Parker didn't have the luxury of having the ref in his corner willing to stop the fight at the first sign of trouble.

Parker did a more convincing job and didn't need breathers every round.

Takam had nothing on Joshua - Nothing!

The only reason Joshua looked tired was - because of Joshua... He could have played it safe - Klitschko style but chosed to try to take Takam out instead.

Joshua is the king for now.

He did what Parker couldn't you say? Really???? Really???

    Bull****

Parker beat Takam by 3 or 4 British Stoppages in the 8th at 30:38.

And none of you better have the balls to say otherwise, if that were in the UK and AJ was his opponent, it would have been stopped after the first shot that stunned Takam. He was hurt just as badly by Parker as he was by AJ, maybe worse.

Is that the best you could find from that fight, cause after that 10 second barrage all i seen was Takam bully Parker around the ring for the rest of the round whilst Parker was breathing out of his arsehole

My point was, there'd be no 10 seconds after in the UK, because it would have been stopped, you know it, I know it, and everyone else on the board knows it. As far as Parker goes, that was by far his worse performance, and he was winded because he and Takam were going to war throughout, something AJ didn't have the balls to attempt, and we all know why, because his chin wouldn't hold up, unlike Parker's. And look at it this way, AJ was breathing out his arsehole, and he didn't come close to going all out, that was him fighting at a steady measured pace.

The broken nose, and having to breathe through his mouth as a result, probably made him look more tired than he was.

Or... he was just legit gassed, it seems to be a pattern with him. Especially if you take into consideration that was AJ at his fattest.

Exactly. Plus let’s face it... Takam has not been the same since being dropped for a 50 count against Povetkin.

He was never gassed, he paced his self well, shot selection was better than seen in previous fights and looked dangerous still in the 10th round.

    Stoppage was BS though
