Joseph Parker couldn't KO journeyman 6ft7 Razvan Cojanu, which is similar fighter as Helenius. Do you think Parker would have also gone the distance against last night Helenius?
Parker who has more speed, power and boxing ability than Whyte, wouldve KO'd Helenius Takam would've beat Helenius and Whyte.
When Cojanu did what Helenius did, he couldn't even KO him and even at this stage of his career I think Helenius is better than Cojanu. That would lead me to say no. That being said Cojanu was a frequent sparring partner for Parker and knew his game inside out. Also Parker is a far more accurate and crisp puncher than Whyte, with superior hand speed and combinations, which would cause Helenius more problems than the work Whyte was doing. That would lead me to say yes. All fighters have off nights, better to judge them over the course or 3/4/5 fights for a better scope of their ability than just the one fight where some negative Nelly was doing everything possible to survive.
Maybe, maybe not. Parker maybe quicker and have better combinations than Whyte but he doesn't hit noticeably harder and like Whyte he's pretty basic is the skills department and predictable with the shots he throws.
Yes. Helen was open often and was caught will numerous punches. Whyte just doesn't have power. His last KO against a recognised opponent was Brian Minto.
I also don't see Parker as a bigger puncher than Whyte. Whytes balance though at times is atrocious. He could very easily get caught when hes disorganised and off balance after throwing
Parker hasn't been sitting down on his punches as much lately, that's why the KO's have stopped...... Not his lack of power at the world stage. Razvan Cojanu is inferior to Dimitrenko who Parker annihilated inside 3 rounds, Helenius is pretty much on par with Dimitrenko at this point - maybe worse. All depends on how much Parker sits down on his punches. I've heard through the grapevine that he's had some injuries that have made him do so less.
Parker is a way above Whyte. Actually holds a belt, and has actually beaten boxers above national level. Whyte's best "win" was a narrow UD loss to a shopworn Chisora, his only other notable match was being knocked unconscious by AJ. Parker has actually beaten some elite level opponents- Ruiz Jr, Takam and Hughie. So lets pipe down with pretending that Whyte is anyway proven to be on Parker's level.
