I used to give Wilder zero chance against AJ.

Now i think he might have a chance.

That said, I think Takam could beat Wilder.

No fan likes to be robbed of a definitive finish. Yes Joshua was winning comfortably and he did have Takam hurt but that stoppage as bad as it gets. No reason to think Joshua would of definitely finished him then, Takam is durable and pretty tricky to hit cleanly. Yes the referees job is to protect the fighter but Takam was in no real danger.

Lol, even I never gave Wilder 0 chance, Joshua can be hit and Wilder's power is obvious. It's just Wilder is even easier to hit and Joshua's power is also obvious. So it's like Dorticos/Kudryashov, when two guys with power meet then it goes to whomever lands the first bomb, 4 times out of 5 that's the better boxer, which is Joshua.

Personally last night hasn't made me think Wilder is any more likely to beat Joshua, he's still sitting at a baseline 20%. Takam and Wilder are nothing alike and the Cameroonian is streets ahead of the American in terms of defensive skill level.

The one fighter it has made me more confident of beating Joshua though is Povetkin, I don't believe he's quite as defensively skilled as Takam (doesn't slip as much) but he does have more power and better punch selection on the inside. That's a 50/50 fight IMO. The only reason I'm not making Sasha a huge favourite is the fact that a lot of Takam's defensive success was due to him changing up his tactics and fighting more off the back foot, whereas Pov is almost always trying to fight on the front foot, so he will most likely be significantly easier to hit than Takam was.
At the very least he'd be Wilder's best win by a country mile.

its too early to say that with validity. If he puts together a chain of fights with weaklings then yes, but you need to give a 19 fight man a chance to prove himself.

As long as he makes two fights that count in the near future, its ok.

I was referring to the specific quote referred to in this thread. That is the quote of a man blatantly lying. He knew it was an early stoppage and he knew that why they were booing.

Joshuas from London,Londoners who havent travelled dont know about the culture of different areas of Britain. He had no idea of the cultural feelings of a provincial area of Britain. The Welsh see him as English, whereas ironically his london "buddies" see him as a "Brit" outsider.

It was simply a bad idea going to the Millenium Stadium this early on in his career. The Welsh seemed more enamoured with Whyte boy, to be fair, at the weigh-in.

jeez, american spellcheck messes with the spelling of enamoured. ridiculous.

oh yeh true, post fight interviews are often a mask of bumtalk for sure. I rarely pay attention to the speech of a guy whos just had his skull battered through aerobic exercise for half an hour. Always comes out sounding like Donald Trump on a bad day.

Agreed. Taking everything in to account last night, I still think hes looking vulnerable..Windmill Wilder aint such an easy task as I first thought. Or i'm having doubts on how dominant he can be !

That's not true. I saw an interview where is was happy Takam had taken the chance to save the card and creditited is courage or whatever. But if you are simply talking about post fight interview, I didn't see it so my bad.

Plus, I heard Hearn already had contact with Takam's team prior to Pulev's injury to start training camp for a fight against Joshua in case something happened. So if it's true ( and I honestly believe it, I'm sure Hearn is not the type of guy throwing away a fight involving a 70 000 gate attendance) then Takam had way more than 12 days of training. Plus he knew he was training for Joshua, the same can't be said for Joshua.

Fact is, if those rules applied to everybody, Froch would've been KOed in 2 in Froch vs Groves.

They BOTH has twelve days notice, how is time student between them ?

Takam SHOULD be kissing Aj behind, he was gifted into a payday that blew his career earnings away, combined.

Also, a fight takam had zero business receiving.

Didn't Wilder say that it was strange for Takam to be on standby in event of Pulev pulling out AND that he had never heard of a number 3 ranked fighter being on standby for a title shot before? Wilder thought the plan had always been for Joshua to fight Takam.

He got caught with flush shots in a couple different rounds but takam had no power to ever bother even a untrained Aj.

You clowns ate crying about a stoppage vs a fighter takam the CLEARLY had NO business in the ring with Aj.

Aj last night would had been very vulnerable vs dw, ortiz, healthy tfury even a fit haye but takam factually isn't capable of EVER hurting or even making Aj vulnerable.

Wlad klit landed multiple clean money shots on Aj, even when he looked ready to go. Some of you meatballs think team Aj would EVER risk ruining his entire career (just got going) by fixing ANYTHING with a fighter not even capable of winning a single round off him.

Wtf, ok, Aj is a fraud because he's so much better than everyone, meatballs

If aj was cocky and arrogant you'd call him a thug if he's humble and nice then it's fake and he's paid to act that way. Your agenda couldn't be more transparent.
