Professional boxers should use 14-16 oz gloves in fights in order to reduce knockouts/damage

I've been doing a lot of thinking and I believe these are great reasons as to why bigger gloves, heavier padded gloves would be better for the sport of boxing. Lots of people out there want to see the sweet science performed at it's zenith, hitting and not getting hit, pure boxing. Not knockouts.

Horse hair gloves are now becoming more and more obsolete. I believe that horse hair gloves will be BANNED in the future by all commissions, foam gloves are the future.

This would greatly aid in protection of the fighters as well as enable boxers to really showcase their skills. I would love for this to occur. I want to see defense, not backyard brawls. In doing so it would greatly heighten the skill level of all the fighters out there because with heavier padded gloves, they know the chances of knockouts would be reduced dramatically, therefore, they would focus on boxing skills as a result.

    1. Reduces knockouts/damage significantly
    2. Prioritizes Defense
    3. Prioritizes the sweet science (Which is what boxing should be about), hitting and not getting hit. Not knockouts.

    Discuss.

No thanks. It may lead to more defensive Boxing and less knock outs, makes you happy, makes the vast majority who pump the money in to the sport not want to watch or pump money in to the sport and then the sport dies and you will be happy.

I think you're completely understating the attraction defensive boxing brings to the general public. A lot of people love watching the sweet science, not knockouts.

Just saying. I'm sure there's a decent sized market for brawls/knockouts, but there's also a good size market of purists.

I agree, Braehmer-Brant should be fight of the year candidate, Juergen is too white and too slick.
    That brotha has defense!

It is great start that horsehair gloves are becoming obsolete, but we have a ways to go before safety becomes a true thing in boxing.

Ward is a boxing purist of the highest order, he just has an incredible inside fighting game to boot. Same with Floyd.

These two men are like water. Bruce Lee style.

I'm totally on board, knock outs aren't exciting to me. I'm far more interested in watching fighters implement their strategy and fight themselves out of trouble.

Fights with momentum changes are my cup of tea. Of course there still be plenty of the stoppages so many crave.

WW and under 10oz above 14 or even 12 IF both caps agree. And stop making all these fights where there's only one possible outcome, aka last night.

I get it, Aj needs to gain fight experience due to being in the sport less than a ****ing decade, that's insane.

There's going to be changes on the future, there's far too many life altering injuries

If you score a knockdown you should lose a point, if you score a KO you should be DQ'd.
All fights must go to a decision.
