Yes. Just to put things into perspective though, if Vitali was not related to Wald and he never retired for a few years the Wald being an ATG would be like 50/50 because he would have a few loses against his older brother, no doubt.
Longest reigning champion in history, that alone makes it a yes. Joshua dominated him at his best, so Joshua is too.
Not necessarily true. Vitali appears stronger and more resilient but Wladimir is the better boxer and knows enough to hold and spoil long enough to stop Vitali from just walking him down. I can see Wlad frustrating Vitali and edging a decision here.
Fair enough, I don't. Wald was getting smashed around the ring in the mid-00's and there's nothing to suggest otherwise Vitali of that time would have the same success.
Much of the German media, which have followed his career more in depth than either of us, actually claimed after the fight that it was "One of Wladimir's best performances".
Well, yeah. They are going to say they was at their best. Not going to say, "yeah, i'm waaay past my peak" are they.
It was one of his best performances, true. That wasn't Wald at his PEAK. The 2009-20013 Wlad was prime back than. Not 41 year old. LL had one of his best performances vs Vitali in his last fight. Was that LL at his best? Nope, not even close.
