Put Vitali in there at top form and he very well could so long as he doesn't bleed again.

Lewis could look awesome (Golota, Rahman 2, Grant, Ruddock, Tyson) and going by that you'd give him a shot against anyone.

Then he'd look like crud (Bruno, Rahman 1, McCall, Briggs, Billups, Vitali) and you wonder whether he was all that.

I think he was great but with faults and capable of the odd shocker from time to time too. At his very best I don't favour too many over him (maybe Ali, Louis and Holmes with Foreman a live underdog) but on an off night? Well they didn't happen that often but when they did there are more than a few capable of springing the upset I reckon.

    Max Baer.
Clowns around getting battered by the jab for 9 rounds then lands a big right hand in the 10th and lights out for Lennox.

I mentioned in a recent post how a Manny Steward-trained OLIVER McCALL might actually have a great chance against a Manny Steward-trained LENNOX LEWIS ... !

Very few would likely beat Lewis, but his list of those who could exceeds most ATG's.

Prime Tyson, no doubt in my mind. Lewis looked like a deer in the headlights in the first round against a totally shot Tyson. It took him 8 rounds of target practice landing bombs to stop a totally shot overweight Tyson. A prime Tyson would have been faster of hand and foot, more defensively adept, and able to fight 12 rounds. He would get under Lewis' overrated jab and come up with counters, he might absorb the odd shot here and there but he proved he could take them, Lewis proved he couldnt take a punch. Tyson would likely stop him early but if he didnt hed have Lewis fighting on the defensive and looking to land a hail mary. Never been a doubt in my mind how a prime for prime match between the two plays out.
