AJ has huge flaws... but I think the-best-of-the-rest have even huger flaws. Wilder would get hit mid-windmill - AJ might not be a legend, but I think he's better than Spilka. Parker is just too meek and inactive - would get steam-rolllered. The only current-ish fighters I can see being competitive are a fully medicated Povetkin and a Tyson Fury who has miraculously recovered the form he had against Wlad (i.e. an entirely mythical figure to be filed along with King Arthur).

Takam looked in better condition on the scales than Joshua FFS, and had a fight scheduled first week in Nov. so was already in camp

Who was his opponent? And Takam always looks in shape.

The Parker-Takam fight didn't go quite how people are describing it. A good, competitive fight but not exactly a borderline decision or "life and death".

2 of the judges had it 8-4 which was about right. Parker gassed in the middle rounds. Aside from that he was definitely outboxing Takam, not as clearly as AJ did but he was definitely a level above him.

I had it 7-5 to Parker I think, if Takam didn’t take his foot off the pedal he couldn’t took.

You do have to remember it was in Parker back yard so the scores are gunna be quite skewed towards Parker.

    First Browne - then Joshua.

I give Parker a legitimate shot at pancaking Joshua.

If the money is there, I think you take the fight.

Big Daddy can whack so it's not like there's not significant risk with him.

The point I was making is that Takam didn't just walk in the gym for the first time, 12 days before the fight so wasn't your usual massively overweight, poorly prepared, blubber gut that you usually get at short notice. In other words, a perfectly respectable opponent.

I think Parker takes AJ every day of the week.
Parker is a fighter who unfortunately fights at the level of his opponent.
Against AJ however he will lift.
The bottom line is that Parker will not get knocked out and at some stage will bang with Aj.
    That's when AJ goes down.

wow. A Parker that lost multiple roumds to Takam and barely won that fight is going to beat the guy that beat Takam with ease yeah? Parker can hit hard enough, but not hard enough to knock out anyone with a decent chin. I expect to see Parker giving it a good shot, but how is he going to make AJ miss? He has little to no head movement and his greatest assett is that he has good handspeed when throwing his jab right cross down the middle against guys with poor guards and who have no footwork or head movement.

I am tempted to think that AJ only did enough to win the rounds in an attempt to get Parker's hopes up. The strategy appears to be working a treat.

Parker says AJ is average? Well Parker is more average than AJ is.

It’s a respectable opponent for a replacement, but it didn’t really give Takam any chance did it?

Lool Parker will get sparked he brings nothing that troubles AJ other than handspeed.

So what other option was there then? 80k tickets sold and the show had to go on and Takam, as 12 day substitutes go is about as good as it gets. I'm sure if there is enough of a clammer for it that AJ would give Takam a rematch at some point, but to be honest I saw nothing to make me think that Takam would fare much better and Eddey and AJ have bigger fish to fry
