Liam Smith vs Liam Williams II

Williams was breaking up and I think he will carry that in, Smith by stoppage

 

It's great his in the wbss because now he has to step up no more easy fights

Williams close on points I think.

 

People can go on about Williams cut, but they are forgetting Smith had a cut just as bad for most of the fight and just got on with it.

 

Smith was getting on top and starting to work Williams over before the stoppage. Smith by late TKO this time- great fight

 

Williams was the better technician and was winning last time out, however even before the cut Williams was flagging and started to look uncomfortable with the pace.

 

So you 'honestly' think that Smith would rather have ONE extra round under his belt than another stoppage on his record ???

 

It was a different cut altogether.
Williams cut was a dangerous one and could of resulted in the loss of his eye had he been hit with a similar shot again.
Smiths cut whilst been bad wasnt potentialy career ending. It was one you can fight on with.
Lockett did the corect thing and protected his fighter. What he should of done though was get the doctor to look at it.
Imo the doc would of stopped it and it would of then gone to the cards. Lockett dropped a bollock there.

 

It didn’t look like a career threatening cut, put it this way if Williams wasn’t blowing out of his arse and getting beat up st that Stage of the fight Lockett would never have pulled him from the fight. Seen an opportunity to pull his man out as he know he was going to get stopped and took it.

 

He commented on it at the time, mate. Said how he was really glad to get 12 rounds under his belt because of the time he’d had out of the ring. He could have easily have forced the stoppage in that 11th. He took his foot off.

 

Well from what i saw of the cut, i was there on the night and didnt realise how bad it was till i watched it back when i got home.
Them cuts are very dangerous, essentialy they slice he lid in half and the bottom part drops leaving the eyeball exposed. Two slashing shots like that in the same area and you could lose an eye
Lockett should of called the doc over, im certain the doc would of stopped it

 

I agree with this they should have gone to the doc first and then pulled him out but Lockett did the right thing to put his fighters health above all else.

 

Can smith not use headbutts this time please
