Lennox Lewis vs Joe Frazier

Memphis Tyson and FOTC Frazier are two totally different animals. Tyson's physicality which he relied through out the 90's was all but gone.

 

Lennox would be able to control joe for a few rounds however Fraziers stamina and work rate will take its toll imo lennox wouldn't be able to keep him off and gets stopped midway.

 

I do. I believe Frazier has the better jaw and the bigger heart
Almost everybody dogs on Frazier over the Foreman fight but they never talk about how he got up from each one of those giant bombs Foreman connected with.
I think Joe reaches Lewis and stops him

 

Close fight. Lewis will have success with the jab and Frazier with the body work.
Lewis by SD, judges do not always give credit to body punching.

 

Agreed, I think Lewis ahead on the cards starts to wilt around the 12th round and Joe stops him in the next 2 rounds. Lewis may hurt and even drop Joe early but he aint keeping him there. The pace of the fight Joe would set will wear out Lennox.

 

I disagree on his chin , both had big hearts but Lewis had ring science too!Frazier was a one trick pony. Lewis met many big punchers Frazier only one,how did that turn out?

 

Actually I think Lewis would have a hard time connecting on Frazier

 

Slow roundhouse Foreman didn't seem to have any trouble.

Oh I forgot Frazier was blind by then and just feeling his way in and relying on the smell of George's deodorant to tell him where he was.

 

Do not see too much similarities between young Foreman and Lewis, do you?
Foreman was fearless and reckless with a granit chin while Lewis is much more catous and methodical with a fragile chin.

 

He had one of those blind man's walking canes

 

Bonavena and Chuvalo were semi-big punchers

 

I am appreciating Lewis more with every passing year.

He beat such a varied style of fighter, with examples of many different ways of winning. I think Vitali was ****, same as most, but he WAS the next dominant fighter, and it is so very rare for the 'passing of the torch' to go against the current.

Arguments about Lewis losing on the scorecards are pretty redundant to me. The tide was turning, and vastly in the older, out of shape, lacking in motivation champion. Tremendous fighter.

Anyway, Lewis would beat Frazier, either by an early viscious knockout, or, more likely, a pretty dull stinker at range.
