British heavyweight and WBC Silver and international beltholder Dillian Whyte, #3 after Stiverne (current mandatory for some reason) and #2 Ortiz (currently suspended), is a little bit upset with the WBC's decision to make #6 Breazeale vs #12 Molina their final eliminator to be the next mandatory.

Whyte is coming of a 6 fight win streak, after his loss to Joshua with names like Chisora (debatable) and Helenius (clear) between them. While Breazeale has a good KO win over previously unbeaten Ugonoh after his Joshua defeat, but Molina who looked by far the worst of the 3 against Joshua, only has a close 6 round MD over some journeyman and shouldn't even be near contention at the moment.

Besides their rankings, this looks kinda blatant with Whyte very probably being their #1 after this weekend, 2nd and 3rd ranked WBC beltholder, but not becoming the next mandatory any time soon.

I can't believe this is happening...
Just as HW boxing started to get exciting again the WBC f*cks it in the arse!

Typical boxing, I wonder why I follow this sport sometimes!!

Should have offered Brezeale decent money then. Beating Helenius and journeyman Tann won't do it. Still got unfinished business with Chisora. Lol.

    This is so true...

I mean the WBC is just one of the 4 governing bodies and not solely responsible and I am not a conspiracy theorist by nature.

BUT how are you suppose to believe something underhand isnt happening when things like this happen. Its a fundamental problem with boxing its all politics, its not transparent and it all happens with 0 real governance.

I was watching an interview/listening to a podcast the other day (cant remember who) but someone said that these governing bodies answer to no one, so they can do whatever the f*ck they want with no regulation.

When you think about it Im not surprised at all that an American HW with a belt gets the rub of the green at every given opportunity!

People just dont follow whats going on. Breazeale was fighting Stiverne for a title eliminator bf that fight fell through, thats why he skipped over Whyte. Molina is the next available guy and yea...Hearn played the $$$ game with Breazeale who had the eliminator spot ,so dont know what Hearn was thinking other than hoping wilder taking his offer to face whyte ?

Either way Hearn had the money to make plays happen but took baby steps with Whyte instead of going after the fight that mattered more and that was Breazeale not wilder for now, ...lol

I think Breazeale will defeat Molina so you will see Whyte/ Breazeale with probably Miller or Chisora if they win as the top 3 guys when the rankings get updated.

Mrboxingtoday said in a podcast yesterday that he spoke to Molina's trainer, according to Molina's trainer they were just sat around ticking over mulling over what move to make next when Don King called and said i have got you a final eliminator.

another example of Don King pulling favours within the WBC... he is supposed to lobby for his fighters i get that but surely the WBC have to have some basis to be able to elevate fighters into positions not just because Don King said so or greased some palms

People forget that Brezeale was going to fight Stiverne in a eliminator, before Ortiz pulled out. Brezeale's title shot basically, Whyte didn't want to know, now the bum Molina gets the title opportunity. Lol.

All good and all, but there are a couple of issues with that, like the mandatory spot Breazeale would have fought for already fullfilled now by his undeserving initial opponent, so this is for the next mandatory at least 6 months down the line. And if history is just a small indicator then that period will be stretched out a "little" while longer. His new opponent Molina really not being up to spec, because seriously, who believes he will have a shot at beating Breazeale, without one of the spots dropping down on his head during the fight?! Then the idea that due to the WBC's nature, Whyte might never ever take an actual mandatory spot, as others (certainly if from the Americas) get easier paths and obvious favoritism.

If the WBC were fair but had their hands bound after their latest mandatory mess, they should have ordered Whyte vs Breazeale as the final eliminator.
Neither Whyte or Breazeale would have been pleased with that (very tough fight for both), but that would have been the fairest solution in this case.

Hearn was trying to be too clever, trying to dictate the terms with the bomb squad. But had enough time and the opportunities to make better fights with the likes of Wach, Mansour, Miller, and Brezeale, and then he went on to fight the other 2 chumps. Just shows they were both talking themselves into a title shot. Hopefully the Wbc makes Dillion work for it.

Quite frankly I wasn't too amused by his horrid borefest against Helenius, and I do not think its a given he beats Breazeale, his power its becoming increasingly obvious, was vastly overrated, because AJ's chin is that bad, it gave us all a false impression of his firepower. I doubt he hits as hard as Ugonoh or Mansour, I think Breazeale could possibly walk right through him.

Despite your points arguably being true, Whyte does have a point when it comes to how shoddy of a mandatory fight this is.
