Breazeale (6th) vs Molina (12th) as Wilder's mandatory. Nobody wants to watch it, neither are really considered world level, neither are big names...quite frankly, there's no financial sense in it. Whyte (3rd) vs Chisora (8th) Would make far more sense. - First fight was a fight of the year contender and ended with controversy. - Both have fought at world level, and given tests to both Vitali and Joshua respectively. - The fight would actually draw a PPV in the UK. Can anyone explain the logic? - The fight is between their own lesser rated fighters (Combined 18th rather than 11th). - Far less financial interest. Non PPV vs PPV. - Surely they want to build up interest in the belt in the UK with an upcoming potential bout with AJ?
i could go for that, anything better than what they are proposing as mandatory. Whyte and Chisora are perfect for this, good matchup against one another, neither has no power, neither will be world beaters, but they put on a damn good show usually, and I enjoy that dont we all. And the first fight was fun as hell, so lets do it again.
Where's the logic in that?! That way Wilder gets a more dangerous mandatory next, and that's not what the WBC wants, not what Wilder wants, not what Haymon wants and not what DiBella wants.
If you look at the talent at heavy, its easy to class Whyte and Chisora at world level or they can compete at world level any way imo. Would you put any money on Wilder definitely beating them ? I wouldn't. Parker too is bang average, Whyte and Chisora are live dogs against both. Its a very average talent pool at the moment which allows for them to be considered world class.
It’s probably better than what they did... But the logical and just thing to do would of been match the winners of the whyte/Helenius and Breazele/molina fights... then make that a fight for the manadatory
The WBC title has held 0 credibility ever since Vitali held it hostage when he was mulling retirement. When Vitali retired, the WBC made it their goal to have the belt in north America by having it contested by Stiverne and Arreola, neither, especially Arreola deserved a title shot. Then Wilder who beat no one apart from Scuba Scott was made Mandatory and he got the title and since then has fought scrubs.
I’m pretty sure Hearn said the first whyte Chisora fight was a wbc eliminator but nothing happened. I dunno how half these governing bodies work.
If you google it the first fight was an eliminator but no idea why neither of them got a shot at wilder Anyone???
Whyte wants too much to fight Chisora if I rememer correctly. Wasn't he demanding over a million then he went and fought on the depth of a US card for about 50 quid
spot on. It doesn't make financial sense but there are likely lots of wealthy people (maybe even Trump) giving the WBC loads of back handers for keeping at least one HW title in U.S .Pretty desparate but looks to be the case.
