Thats not true. Holyfield beat thomas douglas and tillis easier. The versions of those fighters that tyson fought were much better imo but for honesty's sake it needs to be pointed out.

Holyfield has a better style to deal with ruddock than tyson because he could stick and move if he wanted and could choose to outbox him instead of just pure slugging.
Tyson has a better style to deal with holmes.
    Styles make fights.

    Holyfield-Thomas wrtd7
    Tyson-Thomas wtko6
    Tyson destroyed Thomas quicker .
This proves Holyfield didn't beat(for example Holyfield couldn't knock down Thomas) Thomas easier( .Tyson beat the following fighters easier than Holy:Tillman,Thomas,Stewart,Holmes,Nielsen,Savarese,Botha

I just rewatched the first round of Ruddock v Tyson and it was how you stated he did jab his way in it was Ruddock spoiling and not punching that made Tyson look ineffective but I noticed I had wrote in comment section a while back that Tyson`s jab was lazy in rd2 but in the first he threw pawing jabs so maybe that`s what he was doing.

Tillman was better at cruiser though I think, he looked too thin v Tyson and scared out of his mind.

Holyfield should take this by a hard fought but clear UD, kind of - kind of - like Tyson-Ruddock II.

Tyson said he didn`t train for the second Ruddock fight and he was bored with boxing Holy would have been in better condition and would put in a better performance than Tyson did.

Tyson says a lot of things doesn't he, if anybody thinks Tyson didn't train for Ruddock I seriously suggest they go get their head tested.

    I dont believe that.
He was 216, pretty much his perfect weight. If anything he trained too much. I read the undisputed truth and he never said he didnt train for ruddock.

Tyson exhibited very good conditioning and chin there the way he took those shots in the later rounds and kept firing back after slugging and wrestling with a much larger man the entire night. An unconditioned fighter would have been more bothered and thrown off by getting hit, faded badly after 5 and got knocked out a few rounds later

I think holyfield wins because he had mote dimensions and would be able to more effectively take advantage of ruddocks terrible fundamentals.
He could move in and out on ruddock and could hit him while at a safe distance by sticking combinations and moving like he did with foreman.

Tyson only fought one way, forward and he couldnt hit ruddock without having to put himself in the danger zone for those homerun uppercuts. Which is why he would had more difficulty with ruddock than lewis had or holyfield and bowe would probably have

I think at the time people would have been shocked by the result of this fight. Holyfield would have torn him apart.

What’s it say about your hero if this non puncher who couldn’t stop Stewart, Ruiz, Vaughn Bean etc floored and rendered Tinkerbell senseless and helpless???

Washed up Tyson pffttt! He was 4 years younger and had way less mileage than Holyfield when they fought. How old are you dumbarse? Anyone who was around then knows Holyfield was thought to be shot to pieces and was only picked by the Tyson camp as a soft touch “name” victory. Whoops....lol

Holyfield outworks, out punches and flat out outclasses the one trick pony Ruddock every day of the week. Holyfield was no puncher but he’d still batter and stop this 90’s version of Cleveland Williams.

He scored a couple of knockouts with it then the Dokes fight is what really did it. Razor was like a crackhead trying to get back they first hit again. The shot on Dokes was a perfect punch.
He never learned to relax in the ring. Use the jab,.set the table. He wanted that Dokes hit again.

Ruddock reminded me a little of Cooney. Both had One dominant hand, both feasted on past prime name guys winning in dramatic fashion. (Cooney’s names of Young, Lyle and Norton were better than Ruddock’s of Dokes, Bonecrusher, and James Broad) they landed their big chance and gave relatively good accounts of themselves against prime or near prime great champs - Holmes and Tyson. The premature stoppage allowed Ruddock to secure an immediate rematch where Tyson defeated him again a clear second time.
Personally I think Holyfield would have too much side to side movement for Ruddock and would beat him clearly - just a matter if he could stop Ruddock who was pretty durable 1991 Holy was a good not great heavyweight puncher.

    Holyfield UD 12.

With the difference that Ruddock doesn`t look like he survived a plain crash afterwards.

Holy had a better defense than Tyson in `91 and Ruddock didn`t land much on Mike because he didn`t throw as many shots as Holy did, Ruddock couldn`t fight at a normal pace, only in spurts, he`d be dangerous but Holy would counter him to death, he was a far more skille fighter than Ruddock, if Foreman got the same amount of shots off against Ruddock as he did v Holy he would have stopped him, Foreman had a better jab than Ruddock so could set his shots up better, Ruddock was a one handed fighter by 1991.
