I personally think AJ beats Wilder, but it's far from a foregone conclusion. Wilder IS a threat to AJ for sure.
I think Joshua would have the advantages; timing, punch variety, jab, durability, experience against better competition. Wilder would have stamina and power which are significant but not everything.
Which is the right thing to do if you care about him and his career..at 250 lbs Aj would be killed, literally. .I.want at least 4 more fights with each fight coming in 5 lbs lighter and lighter. No-one can get away from that deadly 1/2 from wilder. So fast, so powerful with impeccable timing..dw keeps getting better and better by large jumps each fight. For him, it was all about throwing that combo at the right time..If you try covering up he'll literally throw and place shots around your gloves, perfectly. Povetkin would be the same challenge as steverne. Same as Ortiz, parker, ruiz and either fury would be walked down and blasted out within 5/7 rounds. They only one capable of catching and hurting dw enough to have a shot is a 238/40 lb Aj with 25/30 fights experience
It's definitely a possibility even though I have Joshua as a clear favourite. The Stiverne fight means nothing though, Joshua would've banged him out in 1 too.
That would be a great fight while it lasts. Both have great power, AJ is clearly the more polished fighter while Wilder has speed advantage.
Wilder has a punchers chance, lots of fighters go in to fights with a punchers chance. I believe Joshua will stop Wilder within 4 rounds, Wilder will not attack Joshua like he just attacked a shot to pieces Stiverne. Go and watch Wilder against Washington, he didn't start that aggressively and he won't against Joshua, he could against Stiverne because there was basically no danger. Wilder is what I call a "bully fighter", when he is head and shoulders above an opponent he'll look like that, stick a man in front of him who could seriously hurt him with a single shot and watch the difference.
Joshua doesn't have one punch KO power. Joshua has never knocked out anyone like Wilder did to Spizlka, that guy who did the funny leg dance or Stiverne tonight. Joshua knocks his guys out with combinations and overwhelming them, he doesn't send them to the underworld.
Based on pure boxing technique, take away all power from both sides, who wins? Wilder or Joshua? Joshua plain and simple, you can argue they both have clean power that could potentially knock eachother out. One guy punches straight like you get taught one guy throws all sorts of shapes with horrific technique. I know where my moneys going.
Anyone who seriously believes wilder beats Joshua is either a wilder bum boy or an extreme aj hater. He gets a rough ride for being robotic on this forum but he's an Olympic gold medalist. He see's wilders single and only shot, the long right hand coming from 6 miles away and as soon as he gets within touching distance he starches him with a straight right. Anyone who thinks any different refuses to believe what is black and white in front of there eyes
No, you're right, Wilder will have improved massively having shared the ring for less than a round with a 254lb, immobile, inactive, shot to shite, poorly conditioned, non motivated, just there to pick up the pay check Stiverne. Put the crack pipe down, regain your senses and start thinking objectively ffs.
You are absolutely correct, Wilder does have more one punch power than AJ. Still, I'm pretty sure that if AJ lands on Wilder, he's still gonna be pretty fooked. Just saying......
