That was one of the coolest Knockouts I ever seen

The win means nothing plain and simple. Stiverne was nothing more than a punching bag. Fat, out of shape, no head movement, no game plan, sitting I perfect range.
I know it got everyone excited that is what it was designed to do. But open your eyes for moment Wilder is 32 years old, with 39 fights under his belt he still has faced only 1 top 10 fighter in his career.
That's not an accident.
And this fight was actually the first fight that was set up where he executed what his handlers had hoped. Let's be clear he was supposed to do this to Molina, and all the other defenses.
I will say his punches had more snap tonight and his right hand was straighter. But it was like punching at a heavybag. Easy work.
Guy's career is still completely underwhelming no matter what showtime is trying to sell you.

 

Your entire argument falls to pieces in the real world where people get worse over time. He has some good achievements in his career. That's completely irrelevant to where is is at right now which is bum status.

 

Wilder is doing exactly what he's supposed to do with the level of opposition put in front of him! He could have 2 decent opponents on his resume if not for the PED use. Hopefully he gets AJ in the ring next year! Finally see who's the champ and who's the chump!

 

I thought just the opposite actually. He looked like a bafoon. If he was cool, he would have walked away from Stiverne’s corpse like a G.

The way he showboated and got into it with the ref showed he doesn’t have one iota of class. Beating a man and celebrating is one thing, but KOing him and acting like that is pretty ridiculous.

When I first learned of Wilder, he was probably around 27, 28, maybe 29-0. Tall guy, big puncher. Murican. Then the story about his daughter. He was a likeable guy, one you could root for. But with each and every fight of his I’ve watched (which is all since he became a name), he’s acted like a bigger and bigger clown.

Conversely, the few fights of Joshua I’ve seen he’s acted like the consummate professional. He seems humble and appreciative. The anti-Wilder.

If/when they fight, I’ll be rooting for the guy across the pond, AJ.

 

It was a good finish, even taking into account the opponent.

 

Wilder holds his hands very low for a guy packing glass. Stiverne looked like he was on the super size me diet during training. I wouldn't hold too much weight on this victory, Wilder had still avoided any live body thus far.

 

It so appears the rumors were correct, that Haymon and Don King made a deal for Stiverne to take a dive early. Stiverne had only 1 fight in 3 years, had not fought at all in 2 years................taking a dive would explain why he came in fat, did not train, why should he? Stiverne did not deserve to be ranked at all, much less mandatory, shame on the WBC.................

he looked terrible even with a R1 KO. horrible technique, no wonder he is being protected. an accident waiting to happen as he opens up his whole body to telegraph the launch of one of those weird straight armed cricket bowlers.

Windmilling is exactly the term that comes to mind. the more i see of him wailing away against hopeless slobs the worse and worse he looks. how does he think hes going to improve? or is it a case of trying to build a cash out fight?

 

Then you'd know that beating a 39 year old guy who isn't ranked, didn't fight in 3 years, who came in the heaviest ever in his career and who didn't throw up a punch is pretty much worthless in the grand scheme of things. Stiverne came to pickup a paycheck, not to fight.

 

I think almost everyone knew the fight was a sick joke on boxing fans...............WWE for sure!

Wilder may as well have fought Brown Bottle or Cider Woman.
