Wilder appears to be afraid of Whyte.................big money fight and he gets exposure for the Joshua fight. I guess Wilder wants to get knocked out by Joshua for the huge, huge money fight, then retire rich..................Wilder is insecure about a Whyte fight for some reason. Isn't Breazeale owned by Haymon also?

Hearn appears to be afraid of Wilder.

If Wilder’s not that good, why not unify?

Wilder doesn’t need ‘exposure’ for an AJ fight. Hearn was asked point-blank if he would guarantee that Wilder would fight AJ next if he defeated Whyte and the promoter’s answer was “ummm, errr, well, you see, I mean, you know, yadda yadda, it doesn’t work that way.”

He said NO, he wouldn’t guarantee it. This was after being told Wilder would take the Whyte fight if Hearn guaranteed immediate unification if Wilder defeated Whyte.

So the insecurity is obviously on the part of AJ’s promoter, who has a cash cow to protect and knows Wilder would be a risk. One AJ is probably willing to take, but one Hearn would just rather avoid altogether.

While I like whyte he struggled against helenius and i had him losing against chisora (also lost last night).

Do you really want to see whyte AJ again? If whyte ends up beating wilder then that's what we will get and we will never see AJ Wilder which in my opinion is a more exciting fight. Okay, so beating whyte might give him a better split for the AJ fight. Why not box him against AJ, then so long as he doesn't get koed early and comes to fight, fight him against whyte

I'd rather wait for haye to hopefully knock out bellew then get that made. Winner of haye wilder to fight joshua sounds better to me

Whyte would be a good tuneup, but Wilder knocks him out too... bring it 9n!

Well.................let's get it on! I want to see Joshua knock Wilder out. As far as Wilder's power, we will not know until he fights a legit fight...................I won't hold my breath..................Hearn is greedy as all promoters are. Haymon...........the same! There should be neutral rules in boxing, and earned rankings................fans know about corruption in boxing, but the powers that be do not care.

If Fury gets fit and Haye looks good vs Bellew then we have a few more interesting match ups.

But tbh I dont see why everyone is worried. The AJ vs Wilder fight will happen, it has to.

But I agree with the majority that in the mean time: AJ vs Parker and Wilder vs Whyte then the winners face off for all the belts (if AJ and Wilder win)

Why should he guarantee it? Wilder has to not only beat Whyte but look good doing it.

Until that is done then no way should Hearn guarantee him the AJ fight.

Well does that hold true for Parker? I haven’t heard any demands that he fight Whyte before getting a unification shot vs. AJ. And he certainly didn’t look good in either of his last two fights.

For that matter, neither has Whyte looked good. His sole real claim to fame is that he rocked AJ a bit a couple years ago. That’s it. That doesn’t merit a title shot. If Whyte is that big a deal and is so deserving of a title shot, Hearn should just do a rematch with AJ.

He should go to the UK for a record payday, a very winnable fight and to build the AJ fight. If he beats Whyte is good fashion he can say to AJ, I want a bit more money, as the fight will now be bigger Hearn can say no problem

A bit ore than what share of the purse? Since there’s no offer on the table to Wilder for an AJ fight, what’s to stop Hearn from offering, say, 30 percent if Wilder beats Whyte and saying ‘Well it would have only been 25 percent if you hadn’t fought Whyte.’

How about this: let Hearn make an offer for Wilder to fight AJ next. If Wilder’s side agrees, make the fight. If he doesn’t, let them negotiate. And Hearn can then say, ‘Well, I’ll throw in 5 percent (or 10 or 15, whatever) percent more if you beat Whyte first ... and I’ll pay $3M (or whatever) for that fight as well.’

Put the offer on the table, try to make the biggest fight in the heavyweight division instead of some preliminary involving Whyte.

Or let Parker fight Whyte and the winners fight each other.

Eddie Hearns himself believes Wilder to be a massive favorite over Whyte! Everyone expects him to win. Let's just make the fight to open up the UK market for Wilder. Nobody knows him over there at the moment.

It sure does hence why Parker has been offered 20%. He has no claim to anymore than that.

Who says Whyte deserves a rematch vs AJ? The point is the Wilder fight can determine which one gets the AJ fight.

I'm struggling to see what the cons are with Wilder fighting Whyte. Exactly how does he lose even if the AJ fight isn't locked in.

The worst case scenario is he wins and gets his biggest payday of his career.

The alternative to fighting Whyte is what? Breazeale for much lower payday which again wouldn't guarantee him AJ.

Either way he wouldn't be guaranteed the AJ fight just one pays a whole lot more.

Deontay Wilder does not command big money, he can't sell out arenas in his own state! Joshua is a huge PPV star in the U.K.
Wilder is in no position to make any demands of Hearn. None. Hearn has the backing, the platform and the money, Wilders team can't even make an offer!
If anything Hearn is doing Wilder a favour giving him a record payday and giving him the platform to build his profile in the U.K, against Whyte. A tough fight but Wilder will be a favourite. Instead he is beating up bums in the US for much less money. He should be biting Hearns hand off!
Hearn is a straight up numbers man. If Wilder does the business he has more power at the negotiating table and he can command a better split for himself.
He might get the AJ fight anyway but if he beats Whyte he's got his record payday plus the AJ fight is bigger!? Win-win for Wilder.

I don't know why whyte has to be involved at all. He has done nothing of note to earn a title shot. If being a world champion doesnt warrant a fight with AJ then why not make wilder vs Parker then winner brings 2 belts to the AJ fight. 2 belt holder world champion would get them a larger split in the AJ fight.

I think whyte should have to fight a breazeale or Miller or someone decent and win well before he is due a world title shot
