    1. Patterson Ko faster better fighter by far at that weight. Hard puncher too much for roy. Roys punches do nothing to Patterson. Roy would fit right in with the other patsies on Floyds championship defense record Roy too small and scared. I have spoken!!!!!!

Floyd likes to mix it up too much.

Jones most definitely hits hard enough to rattle Patterson. What nonsense...

This is a rare match that Patterson's opponent has faster hands and is faster overall.

Jones isn't going to be there when Patterson gets close enough to make it a dogfight. He won't engage unless its on his terms.

I think Floyd takes a L on this based on Jones' speed and power with his counterpunches.

And any talk of a size difference is total horsefeathers...

Jones catches him and puts him away. Or decisions him.

Or Patterson decisions him ot knocks him out...

    I'm drinking. Leave me alone.

I don't think Jones is faster. They're about the same.

    Patterson will win this easily.

He will get on top of Jones, and has nearly the same hand speed. His punches will hurt Jones. Jones is capable of stringing together a series of combinations that may get him some rounds, and might even get a flash knockdown on Patterson.

But Patterson will get to Jones and get him out of there. Patterson KO8

Jones that fought ruiz was 34 and had been slowing down the last few years. Not necessarily faster than patterson.
Patterson probably had better stamina at that weight, roys punch volume had been decreasing the preceding few years as well.
Patterson didnt necessarily have more power than ruiz, punch for punch, but he had much faster hands, was more accurate and a better offensive fighter period. Ruiz caught Jones with several power shots in the first round, so Patterson can as well. I dont think Jones can take pattersons power long term, if he keeps getting hit patterson will eventually KO him.
Question is could Jones hurt patterson first?

Patterson would be the solid favorite.

What advantages does Roy have in this ?? He's in with a guy who is not only bigger and stronger but also can match him for speed and athleticism.

    Patterson by KO

They're really about the same size. Floyd has an inch of height and Roy has 3 inches of reach advantage.

This would be a barnburner. Someone gets caught.

I wasn't really talking about height/reach, Floyd is naturally the larger, more powerfully built man, he started his pro career at LHW while Roy started his at MW.

Gotcha. But just to play Devil's Advocate (because I would lean toward Floyd) Ruiz was quite a bit bigger. Floyd did tend to reach a bit and get off balance. If Roy counters correctly (which wasn't always his game) that could end the night. In the end, I think it's Floyd's fight to lose.

FLOYD KO s Prime Ruiz early and easily. Ruiz was a bum. Patterson hit too hard top fast. Jones victory over John is worthless. Look what just came from Wonkaland fatboy Toney did to Ruiz. Patterson flattens Roy like Antonio did.

Don't get me wrong, Roy CAN win this, he had enough power at HW and Floyd was not strong around the chin but I just think that Floyd has too many advantages over in this one.

I'd favor Patterson. He was about as fast as Jones with his hands and I think he had enough power to stop Jones had he caught him flush
