I'd watch. Woodley is better than Big Rig ever was. GSP had a few years off to refresh. It's a good fight. Woodley will either KO him, or get outworked.

George would be wise to move back down to Welterweight. Bisping was purposefully saved for GSP, that's why he didn't have to defend against Souza or Romero, and Whitaker has turned out to be a real beast. GSP wouldn't fair well against the three mentioned guys. He has a much better shot against the five punch per round Woodley at Welter.

There's no carrying away. Silva isn't in the same league as GSP.

Silva has a FEW great wins. GSP has many. Silva's record as UFC champ is absolutely littered with no-marks. It's padded.

GSP fought MULTIPLE KILLERS. Silva never.

And GSP went up ONCE and won a belt. Silva went up NUMEROUS times and never fought a current champ.

LOL I don't agree at all to say maybe her chin is questionable sure but considering she has never been stopped previously in MMA or her 30 plus kickboxing fights I think its a little unfair

Silva would have beat GSPs arse plain and simple, had they fought when they were both in their primes. I'm not saying Silva's division was stacked, it was fairly lackluster from what I recall. 185 is more talented now then it ever was when Silva was champ. But don't come act like 170 was filled with killers either. Give me the the rundown of both divisions, and I'll respond later, I'm mobile right now.

    Penn
    Hughes
    Condit
    Hendricks
    Diaz
    Shields
    Fitch
    Alves
    Trigg
    Sherk

And more. The worst opponent GSP faced as champ was Hardy.

Silva had some shocking opposition in his prime. Cote? Leites? Maia (when he couldn't strike)? Bonnar? Come off it.

If Joanna Yinturdchuck had a horrible chin would it not have manifested itself earlier, she has been doing striking sports for ages?

Also: Wouldn't the same rules in MMA as boxing concerning yoyoing weight classes apply? Boxers who move up then back down almost always have issues so why would GSP be any different? He looked solid at 185 to me and would have to burn up muscle to get back down to 170.

Silva doesn’t crack my top 10 alltime list. He feasted off of a garbage MW era and cherry picked some easy wins in non title bouts. He was obliterated the second good young contenders started rising up. Never entertained the prospect of a catchweight superfight with GSP or moving up a division to challenge Jones. Best wins by far of his UFC run where a badly weight drained Hendo who had 1 round of gas in the tank (which he dominated Silva for the round he was fresh) and a pre-TRT Vitor. Everything else is bang average or mediocre. Let’s not forget he is a known ped drugs cheat too.

Silva’s tainted legacy doesn’t come close to GSP's. Not even close.

You make sum good points about quality of opposition but GSP was actually the 1 who wasn't interested in a superfight with Silva because wasn't interested in moving up at all.As for cherry picking non title fights,Forrest Griffin had just lost his light-heavyweight title when Silva dominated him in 1 round basically without being hit. James Irvin while not elite was a former WEC heavyweight who was coming off destroying the in prime Houston Alexander in 8 seconds and Stephen Bonnar was coming off 3 fight win streak in the UFC.

Trigg, Koschek, Alves on a different level than Leites and Maia? lol. You listed a group of guys that would all get beat by Woodley. And I already acknowledged that Some of Silva's opposition left a lot to be desired. Muscle head wrestlers who reigned over a weak division are all of a sudden top level opponents though? Matt Huges, or Matt Sera better than Dan Henderson? Sherk damn sure wasn't. Shields? He ain't better than Sonnen was. BJ Penn was not a welterweight. I always felt that Silva and GSP had resume's that left a little something to be desired. And as I said, Silva would have whooped his arse had they fought when they were both in their prime.

Roided up muscle head wrestlers that wouldn't be top three guys in today's welterweight division are killers? The exaggerations of GSP fans are laughable. I like GSP. I liked Silva. Both of their ledgers left a bit to be desired, maybe Silva's a little more so, but GSP would have gotten whooped by Silva had they fought prime for prime.

Why was this championship fight only scheduled for 3 rounds?
