Lennox was listed as 6'4 1/2" in a lot of his fights, so he was probably not a full 6'5. Here, against Glenn McCrory, Lewis is listed as 6'4 3/4" but he looks no taller and possibly a fraction shorter than McCrory who is only listed as a flat 6'4" : This content is protected
Agreed I saw him will 6'6 Anthony Joshua a while back and he looked significantly more than a inch shorter and AJ was wearing boxing boots which are flat with no heal.
If a Faded Joe Frazier hit Joe Bugner square on the choppers then a prime joe Frazier is not missing the chin of Lennox Lewis. It is practically impossible for Frazier to miss it. Frank Bruno fought Lewis and Bugner. No way was Frank made to look any shorter against Lewis than he did against Bugner. I challenge anyone to Watch both Bugner and Lewis v Bruno and tell me one of them made Bruno look any shorter than the other. Go to 2.45 This content is protected Go to 3.20 This content is protected
Joe did slip shots well especially once he got warmed up and found his groove. At the same time he was always right there. Quarry and Mathis were two that found him with clean punches before he faced Ali. With a puncher like Lewis, Frazier could slip 4 out of 5 shots and the one that gets through could change the fight.
That's true. Of course we cannot rule that out. But there is also this busses of Frazier punching back while he's slipping the first three punches and how effective Lewis might be backing up. For every punch Frazier slipped he's gaining ground or punching back.
These arguments in defense of Frazier are idiotic, every damn one of them. Someone even said Lewis can't punch down. Tell that to Tua and Tyson. I'm pretty sure they'd both disagree.
It's pretty amazing that Frazier is good enough to ask the question wether he could defeat Lewis. Now flip that around and nobody would be stupid enough to entertain the idea of Lewis having a chance against Frazier if he was outweighed by over 40lb.
Lewis can punch down, he was taller than 90% of the guys he fought. But against low down swarmers he took too long to get going. Fortune, butler, etc. It's the intensity they bring and time he needs to punch effectively that is taken away.
I doubt he would but I know who would have the best chance if all things were equal, P4P Frazier pisses all over Lewis as a fighter.
Who cares about a list? What list? By who? You do know that Lewis was the bigger guy for basically nearly every fight he had? Of course now you're going to say his size has no bearing on his ranking on the list when it clearly does.
Funny l never noticed that against either Tua or Tyson. Can you reference me a few rounds of either fight. There is a punch called an upper cut that deals with this issue quite nicely.
Immaterial. I rank Duran higher p4p than Lewis too but l certainly wouldn't like his chances if they ever fought. I actually rank Holyfield higher p4p too but l would still favor Lewis over him in a fight.
