Wicky's WBU run was dreadful. He defended against Stephen Smith, was that his name, and his dad ****** stopped it as soon as he got hit. A long run of PPV fights vs second rate British and third rate international opponents. Shite under cards as well. Yes, it's always been pretty bad.

I've just watched the Wilder fight. They showed their heavyweight rankings. Bellew at number 10. Enough said.

one is reminded of chris eubank's request to utilise barry mcguigan as the commentator and the subsequent ... ... ... belligerent rejection of this by a certain eddard hearn.

I could be wrong, but i'm sure they showed them in the build up to the Fury Klitschko fight and they had Joshua at #2 behind Wlad and above Fury... At this point he hadn't even fought for the British title :duh

I don't know what's going to be worse for Sky - Joshua going on his own promotions or him losing a fight!

If Joshua goes it alone, promotionally, Hearn's in trouble short term. Sky will go will Joshua, as will a number of fighters, but like Hatton Promotions, Prince Promotions, Hayemaker Promotions etc, Joshua won't have the business acumen or the diligence to make it work long term. Fighters promoting themselves, always put on poor shows with terrible under cards as they want to keep all the money for themselves. If Hearn has the patience to stick around and rebuild his stable like warren has done several times , he'll be back , but I'm not sure he would as he's used to the big shows and the big pay days now. It's easy to go from ( metaphorically ) , eating in a greasy spoon to eating in a five star restaurant. It's not so easy to go back the other way.

You are forgetting Sky Sports and Matchroom Sport extended their exclusive UK and Ireland broadcast partnership until 2021.

This train of thought seems to be picking up some steam on these boards lately i have noticed and call me naive but I just can't see him leaving Hearn let alone SKY, the relationship between him and Sky seems to be growing not diminishing, he is fast becoming the face of not just Sky Boxing but SKY full stop. He was made a brand ambassador what last year?

Lets not forget that according to Hearn the PPV model they run at the moment is that the fighters run the events and they pay Matchroom a percentage... and sky will take their share so the only outcome i can see is the percentages decreasing at the revenue grows.

Eddie will still be involved and providing the money is right, why would AJ want to leave Matchroom the formula that they have build on is working.

Eddie is a top top promoter and certainly the main man in UK boxing...in the past when we have seen big fighters leave big promoters its because because the money hasn't been right. Thats one thing you never hear about with matchroom.

Im not saying he couldn't do it alone but i dont see why he would or should risk it.

This. Promoting isn't as easy as it may look or sound. AJ will take the majority of the revenue generated for his fights under matchroom and really doesn't need to incur the costs which come with going it alone.

A lot of people are more hoping AJ leaves matchroom as they hate on Hearn.

It's not gonna be long before aj gets beat or knocked out ever since the whyte fight aj is getting exposed fight by fight and that will put a end to all this pathetic aj cheerleading and hopefully haye should knock Bellew out and put thing right because Bellew is just a fighter that ran from Stevenson and picked up a vacant cw title called out all the big names then fought Flores then moved up to avoid the best for the money and then got lucky in the haye fight

I dont get why everyone wants AJ to be knocked out, this Whole British Boxing Revolution was started by AJ in 2012 when he won the gold medal. He is the reason why the Boxing scene in the UK is so hot and why so many casuals are hooked to the sport which then means more money which then means better fighters coming to the UK and also results in others getting inspired.Look at Okolie,he said he was working in Mcdonals but once he saw AJ win the Medal it made him go to the Gym and become a boxer.Joshua is the only elite fighter in the Uk who is the best in his divison so i dont get why people from his own want him to be exposed.Sky are a buisness forget what they do, Hearn and Matchroom too

Eh Day and Tony Dosh abusing the unsuspecting PPV mug public with absolute pony with only one exception - the Wlad fight.

Yes people have a choice but it is simply wrong conning casual mugs into believing AJ is in 50/50 dangerous fights when he has been 1/50 odds on or less in most of his PPV fights.

It is simply wrong and that is probably why many will smile for life when he gets pumped.
