Does Parker need to go thru a gatekeeper, or whoever AJ fights next? And exactly whom has Whyte every closed the gate on — gatekeepers have to beat fighters on the rise to separate the contenders from the pretenders. He barely (questionaby) edged journeyman Chisora, who tacked on another loss to a nobody this weekend, and he won a dreadfully boring decision over a guy Duhaupas had knocked out.
Parker also doesn't have a fight with AJ because he was offered what he considered a low offer (not confirmed mind you).. Again he realises he needs to get his UK profile up which is why he is basing himself there... You seem to have trouble understanding the fact if Wilder wants that big money fight with AJ then he needs to fight Whyte. It doesn't matter how **** you or I think Whyte (I think he is total poo tbh) is thats the path that is required to get the fight... Or take a small split (like Parker was offered) but can you see Wilder doing that not he wants 50/50 because in his world he is huge... You want the fight take the offer and it will happen, you want it all you may miss out... Ball is in Wilder court..
While you may have a point, questions strongly need to be asked if true. Why has Hearn appointed Whyte the gatekeeper for Joshua? Why are people accepting of this? Does the fight's value grow that much if Wilder beats Whyte and what if he doesn't do a good job? Its all bullsh*t and people should be calling Hearn out on it. He only wanted another PPV
Exactly is a complete nonsense. Wilder is known by all the casuals over here. Sky constantly promote him and have done over the past couple of years. Hearn just wants another PPV because he has a quota to fill and is seriously struggling for fights now. What does he have left to fill his PPV slots next year?
Honestly, some of the replies to this make me want to cry. Do you even want good fights? Whyte is average. He really isn't much better than what Wilder has already been beating. He has also done nothing to warrant a title shot himself. Wilder has a world title. AJ has world titles. WHY THE **** DO PEOPLE WANT SOMEONE TO FIGHT A GATE KEEPER INSTEAD OF ANOTHER CHAMPION???? It's just the better fight all round, in every single way. AJ-Wilder doesn't need to be 'built up'. That's just nonsense that'll benefit Hearn and no one else.
I honestly cannot see how Eddie Hearn can demand that Wilder fights Whyte first, there's no logical explanation as to why he should that I can see. I wonder how long it will be before AJ gets sick of him making him look like he's ducking fights. I reckon that whenever Wilder makes any noise about AJ, Hearn will release some ridiculous statement about Fury to get all the casuals demanding the AJ v Fury fight, giving him another opportunity to delay AJ fighting Wilder whilst claiming he's "giving the fans what they want".
If Wilder wants more then 10-20%, which he presumably does (probably think he's due 50/50 he's that deluded) then he needs to fight someone else. If he's happy to take 10%, which would be a career high pay day for him, then I'm sure Hearn and AJ would be fine with that. If he wants 50/50 or close to this, fight Whyte! What possible reason would he have for turning down the Whyte offer?
Does fighting Whyte get him closer to 50-50? Casuals in the UK already know who he is and they'd have also watched Whyte's shitshow against Helenius. Either way, I really don't care how much they get paid. It's the better fight and that's what we should all be pushing for. There's no reason for Hearn to be saying 'beat Whyte first' other than to make it a bigger fight and line his own pockets.
He has these fools brainwashed and that exactly what they will say. They can make this fight now and it will break records in the UK. Hearn just want more PPVs as i have said before. He has quota that Sky expect him to fill. If Wilder v Whyte happens AJ can take an easier option so that's 2 PPV slots filled already.
I mean, if the WBA come out and say "you gota do your mandatory before the Wilder fight or you lose your belt" then FINE, whatever. I can live with that and by all means offer Whyte to Wilder. But until they specifically deny a unification then that should be the fight they're demanding, no question. No 'marinating'.
Casuals in the U.K. Do not know who he is! I don't care either but to dismiss it is idiotic, as this is a business, so of course the main stumbling block is money.
My office is full of casuals and I had literally 3 different guys ask me how Wilder does against AJ. He probably ins't a household name, but he is known. For the promoters it is, sure. But as a fan it's the fight I want to see and as such the one I will ask for.
**** all this wilder vs whyte bull****. What the **** happened to champs fighting other champs ??? It does not need building up! There is no time like the present, It does big numbers regardless....
I want the Wilder fight next, but I can guarantee most casuals do not know who Wilder is. I watched the AJ vs Takam fight with a group of mates who are all super casuals and the only potential opponent they heard of was Fury. I had to give them a run down of who Wilder was and why it is the best fight in the division.
