Vitali Klitschko quit citing an arm injury in his fight against 10day late replacement Chris Byrd . The 34lbs heavier, 5 and a half inches taller Vitali pulled out of the fight at the end of the 9th rd despite being well in front and with only 3 rds,9 minutes more to compete.Should he have sought a re-match with Byrd?

If it made financial sense yes, but I think his Brother beat him didn't he?

The brothers were not necessarily in competition with each other but I sensed that for family honour they seemed more keen to take revenge for each other rather themselves.

Byrd would not take the fight when Vitali was healthy.

Byrd was in his prime for this fight, and lucked out. I think if this was the end of Vitali's career, he would have finished the fight and risked further injury, but at his age, and sports knowledge he decided not continuing was best for his career.

No one sane thinks Byrd would have won the re-match. Boxing's hall of fame is full of people who quit fights with lessor injuries. No need to list them, I'll assume you who some were.

Byrd was a ten day late replacement for Donovan Ruddock!
Buddy McGirt fought Pernell Whitaker with the same injury.
Danny Williams fought on with a dislocated shoulder and kod his opponent.
Ali,KevinFinnegan Arthur Abraham, Sonny Liston finished fights after sustaining broken jaws.
Many fighters, too many to count, have continued with broken hands. Please provide a primary source that states Byrd would not fight Vitali again? He was happy to take him on with just ten days notice why would he not do so again?

When, when he was recovering from a shoulder injury? LOL. There is no Byrd calling out Vitali post 2001.

Your post and effort here is a failure, as it was Lennox Lewis who dropped a belt to avoid Chris Byrd!

Vitali would have pounded Byrd while he was champion and healthy...Don King had no interest in the fight.

Vitali Quit'cko flat out ducked the Byrd rematch. The dude went and fought Hoffman instead , handing Byrd over to his brother. Embarrassing situation in all honesty.

Btw , Vitali could never pound on Byrd. He was totally ineffective against him. Couldn't hurt him , couldn't drop him , couldn't do anything at all to him.

So a guy recovering from an injury is ducking someone? Vitali hurt his shoulder as early as round three, and he was easily outpointing Byrd. Healthy, he pounds him.

Even Byrd himself says Vitali was harder to fight, and Wlad pretty much turned him into road kill in the re-match,

He dropped a belt to avoid him, and didn't want Ruiz either. SHOCK.

It is if that guy goes and fights somebody else , like Vitali did with Hoffman. His skills were too crude against Byrd and that exactly why he never wanted to share the ring with him again.

Don King wasn't Byrd's manager then! Why would Lewis avoid Byrd? Lewis took on a succession of dangerous heavyweights
    Ruddock
    Bruno
    McCall
    Morrison
    Mercer
    Briggs
    Golota
    Holyfield x2
    Tua
    Grant
    Rahman x2
    Tyson
    Vitali

    WTF did your boy fight?
    Arreola
    Norris
    Bean
    Sosnowski
    Charr
    Adamek
    Chisora
    Solis

    He defended against journeymen!lol.

Most probably I just made the threads to show the hypocrisy of Mendoza with his thread.
