Shelley Finkel - I called Hearn. Hearn doesn't want the Wilder-Joshua fight.

If you think AJ is ducking Wilder you have to be an idiot. Just look at their respective resumes it's clear one fighter is looking for tough fights while the other has been very happy until now to face one easy opponent after another.

Hearn has made it quite clear what his plan has been. He wants to unify with Parker first, plus he has a possible mandatory to take care of.

Yes we should all demand the best fight the best and Wilder is potentially the biggest fight for Joshua. But you can't ignore the reality of how the boxing business works. Hearn would like Joshua to break the US and he has a better chance of that if all the belts are on the line for the undisputed title against an American then we could finally see big time heavyweight boxing return to US soil if a Vegas casino can be lured to host it. Unification fights are not so rare with so many belts but undisputed title fights are still a rare thing and I personally want this fight to happen on the biggest platform possible, which still is the US.

Wilder, the guy who has a proven track record of avoiding big fights.

Joshua, the guy who beat the best HW of the last 10 years in his 19th fight.

    Who do you believe?

AJ sells out stadiums when in there with bums like Takam and Charles Martin. Why would Wilder need to "raise" his profile in the UK to help sell the fight? :hsughwiggle:

So, you're saying Joshua and Hearn DO WANT TO FIGHT WILDER NEXT, and Wilder is blocking it?

He doesn't need to raise his profile to match AJ-Takam numbers.
But he has the potential to be a FAR bigger opponent for AJ than that, far more marketable.

Wilder's promoters ARE currently working on raising his profile.

    "Potentially?"

Seriously, name a fight that's BIGGER than Wilder-Joshua next?

Not two years from now. Not end of next year. Not if Tyson Fury loses 100 pounds, gets his sanity back and gets his license reinstated.

RIGHT NOW. What fight is BIGGER than Joshua-Wilder for the WBC/WBA/IBF Heavyweight titles?

They are the TWO BEST right now.

There are only two of them. You don't get higher than THE TWO BEST when only TWO people are involved in a fight.

People spend weeks and months and years arguing about who did this guy fight in his "prime?" Who was the best guy he beat in his "prime?" This fight would've been better if they were both in their "primes?"

And you've got TWO UNDEFEATED Heavyweight champs who have obliterated everyone they've fought with no mandatories and nothing (no orgs, no contracts, no network deals) stopping them from fighting ...

THERE IS NOTHING preventing them from fighting ... except for Hearn.

Hearn wants Wilder to fight this guy first. And he wants to wait for the weather to be nicer. And he wants to wait until Joshua has another WBA or IBF Mandatory at the end of next year, and wait until Joshua has a higher profile in the U.S. someday ... and on and on.

    Fight NOW.

Nothing is blocking this fight ... except Hearn.

Why is Wilder among "the two best" ??
39 fights ..... and how many of those were against men in the true top 10 ?

    Here we go.

If you can't even recognize who the two best heavyweights are I'm not going to get into it with you.

Who is the second best heavyweight? Parker? Who arguably lost two of his last three fights? Tyson Fury, who shows up for fights and lifts up his shirt to show how far removed he is from ever returning?

    Please.

This is the biggest heavyweight fight involving the two best heavyweights, in their primes, with the biggest ko records, with the biggest prizes on the line.

There is NO bigger heavyweight fight right now.

    Everyone knows it.

What I'm saying is, Wilder suddenly piped up as soon as he knew AJ had mandatory obligations.

I think it's all talk from Wilder and team. The track record speaks for itself.

What mandatory obligation? Joshua has no mandatory obligation. He just met it. He won't have a WBA obligation for like a year and a half with the WBA because he's their "super" champ.

The mandatory fight which he just had? I didn't think I had to state that as I thought it was obvious.

Wilder only started talking about AJ once that IBF ruling that he had to fight Pulev was made.

Deontay is the lian smith of the heavyweight division.

Not very good ,picked up a mickey mouse belt and fights bums.

Only difference is liam isn't handicapped and never demanded canelo has to fight him in Liverpool for 50-50, in order to become global.
But a certain heavyweight is mentally handicapped
